Blackberry Curve Keyboard

I have a Blackberry Curve and I had it in my pocket last night. It was working fine for a while, then when I took it out of my pocket later, they keyboard was locked and the trackball wouldn't click on any of the icons. I can hear texts and calls coming in but I can't answer them and I can't read my messages as the keyboard is not working at all. The only way for me to see the screen is to reset the phone. Is this because I had it in my pocket and some keys were pushed? Please help.

I have the same problem. The first time this happen, I went out and left it in my pocket, when I came back it didnt want to work. I went to bed and it was doing fine when I wake up. So, I didnt take it seriously and keep putting my phone in my pocket. But, yesterday night, when this happened again, I thought that I had the same issue and wait for the morning; but it never worked. I dont know what to do.

  • alexandermog Feb 25, 2009

Dude you so wrote it better then i did , yes my phone is doing the same thing yours is doing by me leaving it in my pocket. So i have to get a new piece of ****?

  • ralba1998 Feb 27, 2009

This just happened to me. None of the buttons worked - I upgraded the OS - figured it might have been that - Later I checked the batery and the moisture indicator was red on the battery and I am like WHAT - its freaking HUMID outside. The phone should be ok with HUMIDITY!

So now I have to wait for a new phone that will take a few days to get here - and Verizon is to cheap to give me a loaner phone - even though I spend THOUSANDS of dollars a year with their service!

  • daspence Feb 28, 2009

All my keys are locked up including the quick access buttons on the side and even the on-off button on top does nothing. I can answer incoming calls by pushing the button on my blue tooth adn using the voice dialing.

  • Anonymous Apr 30, 2009

The screen only pops up when I plug my phone into the charger. I can see I have missed calls and missed messeges but can't type in my password to unlock my phone. The screen goes black after 10 seconds of having it plugged in or being unplugged.

I have the exact same problem, this is ***. Someone that is smart just post on what to do, and i dont wanna hear take it back to the store which is what im gonna have to do.

The Best thing to do when this problem occurs is to simply remove the battery from the phone and take out any memory card and stick both the battery and memory card directly up your **** until you feel a very strong pressure , after doing so you take the blackberry and throw it at the person next to you. hugtr

The only way to fully get it up and running again it to open the blackberry an clean the logic board. this issue is usually caused by water damage. If you want somebody else to do it for you, goto Blackberry Repairl. If you want to do it yourself, here is a Blackberry Repair Guide that shows how to disassemble a blackberry. Clean any contamination you can find on the logic board, chance are 50/50 that it will work again.

Maybe you can try to hard reset it. The manual way to do this is to remove the batter for 1-2 minutes and restart the blackberry. Hope this fix your problem.

I have the blackberry 8520 and last night it lock and i got a message saying memory cleaning. Now for the last 12 hour all i have is a white screen with a timer, the phone is completely...

Try entering any password in your blackberry until you reach 10 times password failure, it should be make your blackberry curve 8520 unlocked also erased all your previous data. After your blackberry unlocked, setup new password for your phone. If this solution not working the only option is reflash your blackberry phone. Good luck!

Blackberry curve 8520, the a button works on and off and it types a's when i type other letters, whats wrong? please help

if you carry the blackberry in your pocket it collect lint and dirt. blow the keyboard with compressed air to clean the key board. blackberrys are very susceptible to moisture, sweat, body heat which cause moisture. so they should be in a holder on your belt or in a purse

Blackberry curve wont power on. Worked fine yesterday. Put on charger last night. This morning phone was off and wont power on. Took battery out, then but back in still wont turn on

First charge your mobile for atleast 1 hour, and switch it ON you to remove the battery when mobile is turned ON and wait for few seconds re insert the battery then check

If problem still exsists connect your blackberry to computer check wheather its recognising the device If "yes" you need to take a back up of your hands set and re-install the operating system of your Blackberry. To perform a clean installation of the BlackBerry Device Software using Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.5 to 5.0, perform the following steps:- 1) Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager. 2) Click Help. 3) Select About Desktop Manager. 4) Click the Device Software tab. 5) Verify that the BlackBerry Device Software displayed is the latest version currently available from the wireless service provider.

Keyboard/trackball will not work

pls remember if you have it in your pocket it will have moisture from heat and sweat....but this should not be enough to stop the phone trackball from clicking.....take the phone to a mobile repair shop and have them looked at it for you.

I have the same exact problem.

on the Blackberry if you have a problem with it malfunctioning, just remove the battery and put it back in after a few seconds and the phone will reboot. This is how you reset most smartphones.

Keyboard locked and i'm on my last try? 8350i curve with nextel

Remember that if you type in the PIN "5815" (example) on the BB keyboard without holding down the ALT key you are really typing "dxwd" but you can't see it because it does not show the typed letters only the *****. Try entering the letter form of the numeric passcode. One more example. If your passcode was "1234" enter "wers".

Good luck!
