Samsung HC-P4752W 47" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television Logo
Anonymous Posted on Apr 13, 2007

Samsung HCP4752W I have a 2 year old Samsung HCP4752W projection TV. Took it to the TV guy and he couldn't fix it. He said it is the main board. Well enough of that. I got the service manual and got into the tv system. First thing first. Screen display: Look like Horzional sync (pictures torn) Half the picture on right side is on the left side and the other half of the picture is on the left side is on the right side all with some ghosting. Sound OK, Color OK. Before I go into testing the sevice menu I wrote all value down from the service menu. When I got into the service mode there are adjustments and fixed setting. In the 480p Offset mode, adjustment value could be change are, V Amp, V Shift, H EW and H Shift. However I can not change the value. What going on here? The same thing is going on in the 1080i Offset mode. Adjustment should only be done to, V Amp, V Shift, H EW and H Shift. Changing value on the adjustment on other menu page is, OK. I even tested changing the fixed value. But change back the value setting for the fixed. So it's not the remote control. What is going on here? I press the Reset from the service menu to return the orginial value. Still get the same thing, even after restarting the the TV. One more thing, What is the CheckSum mean? I get a code BB08. Is that the trouble spot? Anyway, is the EEROM stuck or the SRAM going bad? Is there a module I need to replace, the Micom, CG or HDMI module? Could someone help me out, Please?... What do I need to look into? I had repair TV several times but not a rear projection and it will be a real testing ground for me. Hope someone can give me some clues.

You can not change a value in 480p or 1080i unless that is the incomming signal type. Unless you really understand these setting I would be careful of changing any.

Apparently my 36" tv which

you can get the parts for tvs over 10 years old and under, i dont know what he means as video box as there is main av board and t-con board, main av is the logic board for all inputs and t-con is video converter for the screen. solid red light usually means power board failed, blinking is usually not enough voltage to startup or boot up.

Samsung HC-P4752W Does Not Turn ON

The proble you have is an intermittant power supply or sweep power supply. Unless you can find a bad connection on the power and deflection board, this could be a very difficult problem to find. I have ran across this problem a couple of times, and after spending countless hours troubleshooting, I replaced the main board and all the problems were taken care of. The board part number is at samsungparts.com and I found the board for you. it is located here: http://www.samsungparts.com/part_detail.asp?catalog%5Fname=Parts+and+Accessories&product%5Fid=BP94%2D01266A&search%5Fmodel=HCP4752W Good Luck

Samsung HCP4752W convergence board?

I couldn't decide whether or not to attack the IC Chips or the whole board, so I took out my S&W model 59 and pumped 11 9mm rounds into the whole chassis! Sets works as new as long as 'new' means comes with 11 bullet holes in chassis.

Convergence issue with samsung HCP4752W

When you change the convergence board you must do a complete factory alignment. If you have never done this, do not attempt it, call a svc. co. You won,t regret it. Just curious, why didn't you repair the original?

Samsung 42 inch rear projection not working

If you have no prior experience repairing TV sets, I wouldn't recommend opening it up under any circumstances. There are voltages inside that can kill, even when unplugged.

Your safest bet would be to go with a repair guy. Shop around for various prices. In the end you will have to weigh the cost of repair against a new set and decide..
