Set your firewall settings allowing yahoo messenger on the exceptions, and then go to control panel+network&internet connection+internet options+connections then click the LAN settings, uncheck the proxy server and check the automatic detect settings...good luck!

We released an updated version of Yahoo! Messenger 9.0 today (9.0.0.2128).
This latest build includes a fix for the sign-in issues that have been
affecting some users. If you were seeing an error code “81003005” when
trying to sign in, this latest version should fix that problem. Even if
you were experiencing a different kind of sign-in issue, we recommend
installing this latest version.

Problem with yahoo messenger 81003005 with MC Afee antivirus. Simply disable it. Go to McAfee security then change settings then click internet and network configuration and disable firewall protection. Install yahoo messenger.
Error code means your firewall is blocking it. It's not yahoo, it's your firewall settings on your own computer

Hello, When my employer tried to sign on YIM the error 81003005 show and yet my coworking and myself are able to get onto our YIM on his computer..
I have also been having the same login issue with YM 9: error 81003005. I have uninstalled Messenger twice, & reinstalled this latest version 9.0.0.2128 that is supposed to fix this problem. I still have the same problems logging in. Everything was fine last night!! This is sooo frustrating.

I have YIM v9.0.0.2136, I always get the 81003005 error. Even when I uninstall and reinstall. All versions of messenger before 9, no prob, but since upgrading to 9, i do not connect 80% of the time.
I have the latest version (9.0.0.2128) and all I have had are problems on my account since I installed it. My fiances account works but I can't sign in to any Yahoo! services at all. So none of the solutions seem to work for me. My brother keeps telling me to get hotmail. It looks like I'll have to now but I lose all my emails and contacts. I've had Yahoo for almost 10 years with no problems but I now hate it. Bugger this.

"Bounty72", Your solution doesn't help. Erroe message 81003005 isn't about your firewall, that is a different type of message. I disabled my firewall to log in and it still gave me the error message 81003005. I agree with everyone, this 9.0 version of Messenger is horrible. I can hardly ever sign in. Does anyone have to problem of Messenger just shutting down or Messenger logging you out for no reason? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and I still have all the same problems. Another question, does anyone have the problem with messenger saving a different password under your ID? On numerous occassions I put in my ID and password and click " remember my ID and password". No matter how many times I do this it messes up. It will save my ID, but it puts in a different password. I only use my personal laptop, so no one else is logging in onto yahoo on my computer.
