RCA F36650 Will Not power on Buzzing Churping when plugged in

I have an RCA F36650 YX01 ATC113CA1

A few months ago the picture would randomly disapear and come bad, then recently it made a pop and no picture and loud buzzing churping puslsating sound. If you even try to plug it in it makes the same noise and will not turn on. I replaced the flyback transformer, hoping that was it, and it still does the same thing and will not power on, is there anything else that would cause this what could make such a noise and what part might need replacing where would i be located.

Thanks for all our help!
Jim

The channels on the TV would start changing automatically and the problem would sometimes correct itself. This week, the on/off button does not work and I cannot turn on my set. Please help. Thanks.

RCA F36650 Will Not power on Buzzing Churping when plugged in problem.

  • Anonymous May 05, 2009

I have an RCA F36650 YX01 ATC113CA1, thanks so much for your help the last time, but it seems im back where i started again. o replaced the hot and flyback and it was working great for a couple months. then the picture would cut in an out. Now it has to be unplugged because all it does is buzz and not turn on. i know the hots probably fried again, but what would cause that? I know there is a little min transformer thing next to the hot the feeds it i guess but other then that i don't know.
    Thanks for your help

Replace flyback transfomer!

  • Anonymous Dec 19, 2008

1 Hori output Transistor most of time it is close to FBT follow pins from flyback one one pins goes to hori output B C E It will have a number on for example D1889 or C2324 Come to think of it if hori output is shorted it will make that chirping sound.and set will not come on.

  • Anonymous Dec 23, 2008

Hori output NTE2324 is used in RCA Part number Listed is 2SC5148 /237470 FBT # 257805 ACME has flybacks with 1yr warranty. 1-800-575-9833 www.acme-sales.net they have the parts you need.

Hi again,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me"

To your unit RCA F36650/CHASSIS # ATC113CA1, I posted replies to your original problem here.
FBT would be the FlyBack Transformer or Line OutPut Transformer (LOPT).A ring test is check for the FBT out of circuit using an instrumentthat sends pulses to the FBT's primary circuit. Thereafter a comparatorcircuitry checks the number of damped oscillations or 'rings' producedand determines if the primary is good or not.
Incidentally, it could also be the power supply unit (PSU). You could verify by doing the check on the HOT or lifting the supply to the main B+ going to the FBT and trying it. It the PSU powers up and the light lits as well as the sound comes up, the PSU is good and HOT/FBT is suspect.
You might be better off getting hold of a service manual or at least a schematic diagram.

Incidentally, 13 years is a rather long time in electronics with the technology changing at such a fast pace. 13 years ago we still have a few Betamax and laserdisc players especially those by Pioneer.

Cheers.

Buzzing noise

Fly back transformer will cause a buzzing sound like this. Really up to you how bad it bothers you it can be fixed but it will cost a couple hundred dollars. If you can solder you can put it in yourself but the flyyback will still cost a little bit of money.

Sound is fine, but no picture

could be a bad solder connection or maybe the CRT socket has come off slightly. I lean more to a bad solder connection at the flyback area screen G2
