SOURCE: My Singer 5050C wants to bunch the thread

Make sure to thread machine with the presser foot raised. Then make sure thread gets in between the tension discs and that you have the machine threaded correctly with the thread going up and into the take-up arm. tension should be set at 4-5.

SOURCE: I am looking for a free manual for a Singer 5050C

Go to

http://www.singerco.com/accessories/manuals.html

There's a "free download" option there - I used "5050" for the model number, the "C" seemed to confuse the search engine.

If I can be of further assistance, or if you have questions about any of my response(s), please let me know before rating me.

If this solves the issue, please rate it accordingly. My goal is to earn a "Very Helpful" rating from everyone I help.

Thanks for using Fixya.com,

Jon

I am trying to find a part for my Singer 5050c machine. The machine no longer does anything but the straight stitching. I found the broken part that runs across the pattern cams and I don't know what...

In your community there must be a sewing machine / vacuum cleaner repair shop. You would be better off going to them to order the part you need then online or over the phone. Singer is a very popular make and it is very possible that this dealer may even stock this item.
In addition to your part, you may benefit in other ways such as bobbins, thread, needles, or other fancy items you can use with your machine. Give it a try, look in your phone book. GOOD LUCK.

and in the search field type in your model number, in this case, 5050, then click "search".

Most manuals are free to download as pdfs.
