Bosch WFK 2401 impeller blockage

My Bosch WFK 2401 does not seem to clear the water out of the clothes. The spin cycle seems to be short. The timer will go from 12 minutes down to 2 minutes. The problems started after we heard noises from the washer that sounded like something had been left in some clothes and whatever it was was loose in the machine. Could the impeller to drain the machine be blocked? How do you get to it to check? Could it be some other issue? Thanks in advance!

Is the pump and impeller the same unit? How do you check for something blocking the line? We deisconnected the drain hose and it is clear. Thanks

SOURCE: Bosch Washer WFK 2401

leaks could be from anywhere. remove the top and back cover, put on a cycle and try to trace where leak is. sorry if this is not very helpful. water in filter should not smell. this may be due to using liquid detergent which causes a smell like drains if used over a period. put on a boil wash and revert to using powder

SOURCE: Washer stops prematurely with code 03

I too had this intermittent problem with my Bosch.  The repair people didn't seem to know what to look for until today.  This service technician, unlike the others, noticed the soot and looked at the circuit board.  He contacted the Bosch service center and was told it was probably a bad motor that had caused the circuit board to go bad and told him what to look for.  Sure enough, that was the problem.  Unfortunately, the previous technicians didn't do this while it was still under warranty for the electronics (5 years), so the cost to replace the motor and circuit board will be $770.  I think I'll buy another machine.

SOURCE: installing carbon brushes on Bosch WFK 2401

Remove rear panel of washer.
Remove drive belt.
Unscrew the 2 bolts that hold motor to tub back.
Remove motor plug
Lever notor back with a screwdriver or similar, keeping a firm hold on motor.and remove motor
At the rear end of motor away from pulley you will see the brushes and the armature.
Remove brushes, and if there is less than 4 or 5mm of carbon left, then replace them.
Lightly clean the armature with emery cloth.
Refit in reverse order. Test.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

SOURCE: I have a Bosch washer, model number WFK 2401 that

I just had the same problem last week Aug 1 2009
on our WFK 2401 purchased in 2001

If you hear no motor spinning when it should then it's something
with the motor. If you hear motor spinning, esp spin cycle, but
the drum doesn't spin, then probably broken belt ($30 part).

Since I work on cars (this is very much like an alternator+belt) and wanted to avoid a $100 service call (just to come to house) and
at least try for a quick fix before buying a new washer, I opened the back, confirmed belt looked ok, so tried
replacing the brushes in the motor, and it worked.

I took some pics, and time permitting will post more details

I purchased the brushes at partstap.com for $50 (incl tax+ship)

SOURCE: Bosch NEXXT 500 SERIES washer Makes knocking sound while spinning

during transport there are fittings installed to prevent damage to the machine. The shaft may have got bent but before panic sets in try to check 1. that there is a gap between the mahine and units
2. that the unit is leveled.

Hi, the spin cycle on our bosch wfk 2401 suddenly stopped working. The wash and rinse cycle works but when it's time for the spin cycle to begin, the machine hums as though the motor is straining...

If there is motor humming while the spin cycle is ON , please confirm if the motor also heats up-- take caution not to touch live points. Also if you manually push the motor with care so see if the spin starts up then the capacitor (this assists with the starting) can be weak or faulty.
Remove and check with a mains tests and see if the charge retains, if not change. Other wise check if there is friction on the motor or drive.

Disconnect the drain hoses and check for blockages. If no blockage "time" the drain interval. If it's more than 6 minutes it's the pump. Also make sure you're using the correct type of soap so the ball check valve on the bottom of the outer drum isn't getting fouled with excessive suds. Also disconnect the drain hose from your house plumbing and let it free flow on it's own. This will tell you if the blockage is in your plumbing and not in the machine.
