Light won't work

Hi, I was in the middle of a workout and the light stopped working. How do I fix this?

  • resnickr Dec 19, 2008

Actually, I reset the watch by pushing in all the buttons but the light button and the watch went into a reset mode upon which I needed to reset the time and date. As well now the light works again. Thanks anyway.

I found out after replacing my battery that my back-light wouldn't work... I took the back off again and the back-light worked so put some black insulation tape on the metal part that may of been touching the battery, put it all back together and all working again... really happy :-D

I suggest you have to check your battery first. It may be underpowered. Replace it with the new one and then check light again.

I have a RS 300. I am having problems getting it to read my pulse at the start of a workout. It will pick up others in the workout room. Than about 1/2hr into the workout it starts to work. i replaced...

Please visit my tips and tricks page for reasons why you are not getting a signal. if it takes that long, the number 1 thing to look at is conductivity - so you are either not getting the strap wet enough and takes enough sweat to build up to get a god signal, or it is out of position and takes till you get the strap really wet to make the signal strong enough.

Another thing is turn the watch on, away from other input sources so the watch will key on you, if it is receiving signals from others at the start it will have a hard time knowing which signal to use.

Watch only works when not worn

Hi,
You may not believe me - but I think it is You.
There are some people who stop watches from working - and affect electrical items.
These people are called SLIders - because of the original research on "Street Light Interference"
Be very careful around electrical items when you are stressed - or you could blow lightbulbs.
- Or it could be temperature this watch is responding to. If it stops when left somewhere warm - it's temperature related.

I got new timex iron man with heart rate monitor. Just after 2months indiglo lights don't function anymore. I need it badly for my early dawn workouts

Do not be so upset - any nearest watchmaker will fix it. All you need is a new battery. Visit your nearest watch repair shop and ask for a new battery to fit in. If you not satisfied: find out in my TIPS here for the manual for your watch. Explanation: When you bought the watch, it was in perfect state (allegedly), everything was working and so on. The thing you do NOT know is: battery was fitted in the workshop long ago, maybe a year or few ago before you bought it. That is OK, co'z watch companies do fit a battery at the point of watch leaving company. So, for example, you bought a brand new watch, but it is not working at all. Wind it up. Or, if you are unable to do the things we do, visit TIMEX download page. Save your nerve and watch as well - send it back and ask for replacement. You will find everything in my tips here on FixYa.

During a workout my watch stopped working it appears to be frozen and will not do anything

NO, don't open the back cover you will break the water seal.

Reset the wrist unit. Resetting clears the date and time settings.
Press all buttons except the Light button at the same time until the display is filled with digits. Press OK.

If this does not work, have the batteries checked.

Polar F6 HRM keeps losing signal

I would go back to the dealer and have him exchange the watch.

There is not much inside of these watches that is servicable.

If it is not the watch that is defective, maybe there is bad reception for the the conditions where you are using the watch???

How do tou reset the review function on a timex 30 lap ironman triathlon?

Yeah...it took me awhile to figure this one out too.

You can't actually reset the Review function back to zero. Instead, you replace the data with your latest workout.

Here are the steps:
1) turn on heart rate monitor
2) setup HRM zone
3) start chronograph
4) do your workout
5) stop chronograph
6) review your results

Starting the chronograph is the key. This is the step I missed
