I have the same problem. The track ball moves how its supposed to from one icon to the next, but when i try to enter, nothing works.

suddenly my keyboard and all other buttons stopped working. I took out the battery and restarted and now the trackball works but it will not enter and the keyboard still does not work

I just updated my phone system software and now I have the problem that the ball will not enter most of the time. If I press it several times it might register once. Sometimes it would open up the camera function? I just did a hard reset and it seems to be working for now. I think it is an issue with the software updates? The updates came directly from Blackberry.

I have the same problem also, unfortunately. I recently updated the new OS, and at first when I would send a text message every other letter i would push it would send the text! So I pulled out the battery and powered it back on. It fixed the send problem but now the space bar does not work ever time i press it and the track ball is about 1 out of 5. I need HELP!

I have the same problem, I changed the theme and powered down and then back on and stil nothing. I too have cleaned the trackball, as well as a reboot with the battery. I can manage with the enter button, however there are a few times when the enter button just wont work and I need to use the trackball. Any other hints? I thought about just changing the trackball - as they are pretty inexpensive. Maybe I should take the phone in to Sprint first though.

Same problem. I took it back to the Bell store and they told me it looked like there was water damage. I've never dropped it in liquid but I do occasionally use my phones speaker to listen to music in the shower. Looks like I'll have to send it in and hope for the best.

same exact problem is described above. No buttons work, but track ball does move around but not click. I can only answer calls with my bluetooth and i can't make any calls. How do you change a theme, or do anything, for that matter, when none of your buttons work?

I've had the same exact problem as oneelite2005, on 11 Apr 09. Contacted Vodafone, they said it was goosed & would send out an exchange model and to back up all data.

I backed up to my Mac via Pocketmac. The exchange model arrived within a couple of days. I couldn't get the Pocketmac to sync with the new bold.

I told Vodafone, they wouldn't help & said I need to speak to Apple. Apple said I need to talk to Vodafone. I told Vodafone I wanted to end my contract & move to an iphone. which would at least sync easily with my mac. They agreed to first upgrade me to a Curve to see if it would sync better.

Today, 7 days from the initial problem with the first Bold, my exchange bold lost all charge, wouldn't charge up from my USB and only charged in my car.

The Curve and RIM have 10 days trial, then it's binned for an iphone!

    How does everyone else feel?

What worked for me was changing from one theme to another. My problem started after I downloaded a new theme and activated it. A few days later my trackball didn't want to "enter" anymore. When I changed the theme to another...it worked again. When I changed the theme back again it still work. Thank you Holy Spirit.

Northstar77 youre a genius! Been trying to solve this problem for months now. Tried everything up till now. It worked perfectly. Now if I can only get my BB to stop randomly opening programs on its own. Any thoughts? -Ray

I've purchased items from Truesupplier.com before and they provide excellent service.
You'll need to purchase another keyboard/housing and a trackball for your phone.
You'll need a T6/T4 screwdriver. This can be bought from Lowe's/Home Depot.
There are several videos on youtube that show the replacement of your housing.
This is the easiest way to fix your keyboard and trackball.

The keys do not work the trackball is intermittent

If you have a warranty on the phone than you should bring it in right away, if not than consider finding a replacement. this happened to my phone and it was deemed beyond economical repair due to liquid damage.

Blackberry curve 8310 gaming problems

Some games or apps are not well optimized for the 8310, try using a combination of keys with the Alt key at the bottom right (Alt +Q or Alt+P) or simply the trackball. If this does not work I suggest you delete the app or game to free the internal memory.

Cannot scroll up with my Blackberry Curve 8310 trackball

It is a very common problem. You just need a new trackball. Should be about $25. If you want to make it work temporary, then just removed it and clean the trackball and the phone part under it (on the phone itself) with 99% alcohol. It might work for a while again

Trackball

I just had this happen to me. I blew air (from an air can used to clean keyboards, etc) into the trackball and it started working fine. It seemed there was dust or something stuck inside. Good Luck!

The track ball on my blackberry 8310 stopped working.

No, but fortunately the trackball is not hard or expensive to replace. If you are technically savvy you can do this yourself. Just purchase a trackball on the internet. The trackball easily comes off if you put a small flat screw driver under the outer side of the chrome ring and pull if off. Let me know if you needed more help. Good luck

Trackball

No, it is absolutely integral to the operation of the device.
There are no arrows on the keyboard - you have to use the trackball.
