When watching the tv yesterday, the picture became
doubled and one was a red shadow. To restate, one picture
appears to be the correct picture and the other is a red
picture of the correct picture. I need help with this.
The TV is 4 1/2 years old. I hope there is an easy and
cheap fix.
Your tv needs to be align take it to a tech so that the tv can get a convergence adjustment it is call color bleeding.these things when a set gets old this wil cost between 440.00 TO $75.00,in this the comb filter and the screen voltage will be checked.

If this is a projection tv a shadow usually indicates bad convergence. If you cannot adjust convergence from customer menu have a professional replace convergence amplifiers and reconverge
Unplug the TV from the ac wall outlet for about 4 minutes then plug it back in and turn it on. If it still has a double image then tell me if it's affecting the menu screen from the TV (not the cable menu). And is the double image in red and blue?
UNDER THE FRONT DOOR PRESS THE BOTTOM BUTTON "FLASH FOCUS" AND SEE IF IT FIXES IT. IF NOT AND YOU SEEN RED DOUBLE OF THE IMAGE, THEN THE SET PROBABLY NEEDS THE CONVERGENCE CIRCUIT REPAIRED. DON.
This would apear to be a convergence issue ..sometimes you can go into settings and converge it manualy.. if this is to far out of range. a service tech will have to adjust inservice mode. if the convergence cuircits are not failing. if so then there are cuircits that will have to be replaced. is this just a blue shadow?.. is there green or red shadows. if not it may not be a major repair.
