Dell W3000 display issue - band of red dots on the left side

Hi, all,

I have the following problem with Dell W3000 (it's made by LG/Zenith):

On the left side of screen sometimes i can see a lane of red dots or red shadows:

http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/1617/dotsph3.jpg

These red dots are not visible on a desktop wallpaper:

I believe visibility of these spots depend on a color of that part of screen, when it's white, black or blue - no spots, when it's multicolored - dots are on.

What could be a cause of that issue? Is it fixable?

Thanks in advance

SOURCE: Horizontal banding on Dell monitor

Hello, My name is Richard and I am part of Dell's Online Community Outreach group. Looking at you monitors issue; it would be most advantageous that you contact our technical support. Your monitor seems to be a fairly now model and is probably still under warranty. Call 1-800-WWW-DELL and provided the technician the PPID number on the back of the monitor. The Dell rep will be able to determine your warranty options. Regards, Richard B Online Community Outreach

1.On the face of the printer press the "Menu" button>Admin Menu>Maintrnance>Color Reg Adj>
Auto Correct>Yes
2. "Menu" button>Admin Menu>Maintrnance>Clean Developer>(Pick problem color)>Yes.

Hope it helps

It sounds to me like you are having a problem with the video card on the motherboard, I am not familiar with this model but some you can remove the video card and upgrade, some you can not.if you can upgrade you can try this
if you cannot remove the video card then a new motherboard will be required to fix this computer.
you can look on ebay for a replacement at a reasonable price or talk to your local computer service center.
hope this helps.

Hi there, i have a Dell tv model W3000 lately the tv does not turn on at all,i know power is there but the tv does not comes on. sometimes it comes on but it does not last....if i turn the tv off it does...

This is the way all of these fail. Don't buy Dell TV's.
Try this internet posted solution.
Turn on TV with remote control, if the TV does not light-up, find the Main Power Switch. Turn the switch off, then turn it on, the TV lights-up. Probably caused by poor contacts due to age and low quality parts.

LG DT42PY10X Plasma left hand side is blank, sometimes random think multi-coloured lines run vertically. Right hand side perfect. Sound is OK. Any clues?

Hi:
You are going to have to replace the display driver Boards for the X Substain board. The two board are called hand insert buffer display drivers.
You can go to http://www.partstore.com
The part #'s are as follows:
LG Electronics/Zenith 6871QDH068B Y DRIVE TOP This is an alternative to LG Electronics/Zenith part 6871QDH068A LG Electronics/Zenith 6871QLH037A XRLT ASST X-LEFT

Dell W3000 display issue - logic board or inverter?

The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

Dell w3000 & PS3

This may not be DVI issue.
I connected DVD player HDMI ----> DVI ( Dell W3000) LCD TV.
Later I found that Dell TV version of DVI does not support HDCP protocol ( High Definition Content Protection protocol). So I could not play HDMI to DVI movies from my DVD player instead I use Y Pb Pr -- this works ok.

Hope this helps... I am not use PS3 enforces HDCP - I assume Sony linked with Sony Pictures would enforce HDCP on HDMI cable.
