Auto feeder misalignment

When copies are made through the auto feeder, only a portion of the page is being copied. I tried contacting Sharp copiers and technical support told me that the timer for the auto feeder is off and needs to be aigned. Does anyone know how to adjust the timer for the auto feeder?

Are you sure you don't have a static problem locking the paper to the glass.

Copying 8.5x8.5 original thru document feeder and it doesnt aal print

Most copier has an APS (Auto Paper Selection) as default, 8.5 x8.5 is a square original, I would suggest you manually select the paper tray (e.g. Letter) first (this will temporary disable the APS for this session), then lay it down on the original glass, or ADF (Auto Document Feeder).

If you do not disable APS, you will have paper jamming problem, you do not have 8.5 x8.5 is th paper tray, of course, you may try it feed from the by-pass tray, set the the paper size to 8.5 x8.5 or special size ....... Each manufacturer has a different name for the same function (terminology).

Its a Sharp AL-1631. It'll copy from the auto feed

Check under the scanner, there is a scanner lock that you may have hit removing copies. Its most likely in the locked position and stopping scan.

Two lines, one on each side of copies made from feeder and faxes

Try cleaning the rollers inside the scanner including the glass inside and out with a soft damped cloth. Look also for a piece of paper, staple wires, paper clips or pencil lead jammed inside the rollers or somewhere in the corner.
Also, look for a foreign object or substance on the cold cathode tube light and clean it. Try also cleaning the mirror.

Vertical line down all copies coming from the top multipage feeder.

Please provide model number......however, if it's a "copier style" if you open the auto feeder, there should be a large contact glass and then a small "****" glass on the side that is used when using the auto feeder -clean this glass thoroughly (clean both while you're at it). If it's just a regular style fax machine, there will just be a small glass under the cover that needs to be cleaned.

Please let me know :)

Full page vertical line appears on copy fed pages.

Open up the document feeder. You will probably find wite-out on the scanner glass.

Single black line down center of newly copied page when using Auto feeder to copy

I had this same problem but after while it went away - so my solution would be to just keep using it, and perhaps it will solve itself.

Please Help -- Erroneous Lines from Auto-Paper-Feeder

Not familiar with this particular machine, but it sounds like one which uses a seperate scanner when drawing originals from the sheet feeder. Have a look to see if there's a glass strip to the side of the main copier face. If so, give that a careful clean. A.
