I have a 2000 225 evinrude fitch.this weekend i would idle in forward gear afte a10 to 20 min. of running. the motor would shut off .when i ried to restart i had no power to spin starter.i let it sit for 15 min. it stated right up.that happened 4 times. when i got to the dock it stuck in foward gear i put it in reverse it went foward.stuck in gear.whats up up with this.this is my 2nd replacement

first try so SPT gas teatment may sure you have a half tank of gas and then put in a little more of gas if this help change the fuel filter also check the vaccum lines and make sure they are all on and in and good conditon and also checkout the intake manifold for leaks

First check you fluid level,if good have it flushed out with new fluid,if this does now work,time for rebuild,unless you know how to adjust the bands.

Sounds like a bent fork in the transfer case. It is a common problem with your truck. The transfer case is a np236. If it just recently started doing this, the rebuild will cost around $800. If the 4wd has been acting up for a while, the planetary will probably need changed, which is another $200.

put a OBD II code reader on it see if it has stored any codes if not replace the TPS sensor and the MAF sensor do the replacements at different times so you don't buy one or the other for nothing
