Mike - Unplug the unit and unscrew about 4 screws on the top and then the side panel and the fuse will be in that location.

Note: If the fuse looks brown, it's definetly blown, you can get the same fuse at your local Radio Shack for about $0.97. hope this helps

SOURCE: Door Doesn't latch shut

Usually it's not thespring but instead the "latch head", which has a little loop on the backside to hold the spring. The loop breaks off.

The latch head is the long plastic piece with two protruding hooks which activate the hidden door switches.

The door will need to be taken apart (but not removed from the oven!) to get to the latch head. See the attached example photo.

SOURCE: my door latch isn't letting

I would say you have a broken "release lever". This is the internal part which the release button pushes to open your door.

With the door not opening, you will have to remove the outer wrapper / cover, then you can see the works behind the control panel.

If you or someone you know wants to look into this, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383 but your exact model is not shown here.

But the info will be close enough to help you or someone you know check it, then you can call the supplier referenced at the link above to ask directly about your needed part(s).

SOURCE: Whirlpool Gold Microwave Model GH7155XHS

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch, a loose door switch mount, or a problem on the control panel.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside. Its continuity must be checked.

Door switch or mount trouble can be caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical information on safety, disassembly and door switches at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

If you think the problem is on the control panel, we repair these nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in most cases.

SOURCE: Door won't latch/microwave won't turn on

The door does come apart. Open the door and where the hinges are, there are openings where the hinges enter the door, this plastic piece (goes all the way around the door) With a small flat blade screws driver VERY carefully pry it (plastic) off, once off, check the latch end for the spring, typical failure for a Sharp is the little tab that the spring hooks to on the door, the only way to repair this so it will last is to replace the door frame. they are not too expensive, about $50 or so Part# FCOVB166KIT
is the door frame assy

Will not power up after power outage

it contains two fuses one of 10 Amps and other for 500mA.
Replace 10Amps fuse with same type and rating.Best thing is to take this fuse and show it to the sale person of electronic shop.
Before you touch any parts of the microwave oven please disconnect the mains power chord and never touch the main power capacitor as this contains very high voltage even after disconnection.

Whirlpool Microwave MH6700xW-0 Blows internal fuses regulary

Assuming your power line voltage is okay, it would not surprise me that after 27 years, your high voltage capacitor is drying out and increasing its capacitance. This will cause variance in the high voltage output, which can stress the magnetron and increase current consumption.

I have power to the outlet feeding my Whirlpool Gold Model number TRR3811002 but nothing at the unit? are there internal fuses I can check?

Yes, there is a fuse that can trip. It is typically located behind the control panel, it is a ceramic fuse that is 15 or 20 amp.

For some reason I am not pulling up your model number, can you verify that it is correct from the tag just inside the door and I might be able to better direct you to the location.

Thanks!

No Power Whirlpool MH7140XF

does it not light up at all? A microwave has a fuse on it. Probably accessible from the back panel. if not you would need to disassemble it. Most likely cause of this is slamming the door broke one of the safety switches the door has so the microwave knows when the door is open. And it shorted against something when it broke. It might have simply blew the fuse but then again you might have fried it.
