PLAYBACK FREEZE I BOUGHT THE NEW SONY HVR-HD1000E IN APRIL OF THIS YEAR. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY FILMS 'FREEZING' ON PLAYBACK (BOTH HD and SD PLAYBACK) - THE FILMS RECORD FINE BUT EVERY NOW AND THEN THE PICTURE JUST FREEZES, THEN JUMPS FORWARD TWO/THREE SECS BEFORE CONTINUING - IT WENT BACK TO SONY WHO REPLACED THE RECORDING DECK BUT THE PROBLEM IS STILL OCCURRING - IT IS RANDOM i.e. IT DOESN'T ALWAYS HAPPEN, AND IS NOT TIME RELATED .... ANY IDEAS

Hi i have had the exact same problem, been to sony 3 times and they are now messing me around, they said they have replaced the decking system but the problem is still occuring, when the footage is on my timeline in prem 8 the freeze shows up as a black cheques and smears and also red video. driving me nuts i am pushing for a refund or a brand new cam in exchange steve

Hi,
Take out memory stick from camera and check does it still freeze?
I think memory card in camera is causing problem.

If it's just a case of you not being able to watch HD films, but you can watch normal dvd's, then it sounds like you need to reinstall your High Definition video codec.

What software are you using for your dvd playback?
