Karcher Dirt Blaster suddenly stopped working

For weeks it was great cleaning our walks and driveway but suddenly it seemed to lock up and the needle would not work. Can't blow air thru it held tip downward but air will pass if held nozzle tip upward. The tip of the needle is visible and you can shake it so can't figure why it will not work and let water pass thru it to swirl the needle.

SOURCE: Karcher 211 - no motor action

Dear Tigger82 (also montaver2000),
This explaination is relavent to various Karcher models, especialy your model. When you are using the machine with the gun open....presurised water comes out of the lance. When you close the gun, the machine stops. This happens by means of a Spill Valve or often called the Control Valve. When the gun is closed, this spill valve cotracts with built up pressure and at the same time works on a miro switch which cuts the electricity....and thus stops the electric motor. Now in many cases when the gun is again opened, this spill valve sticks and keeps the electric circuit closed.
In all cases you must open the cover, and locate this spill valve. Sometimes it is easy to see a micro switch on it. If you remove the miro switch from the spill valve the motor will for sure turn.
Now the spill valve gets stuck for many reasons. One of the reasons is that you leave the machine under pressure for a long time and even store away the machine with pressure still in the system. A spill valve also gets stuck due to detergent. I sometimes service the spill valve and lubricate with special solicon grease. But the best way is to change the spill valve with a new one. So in a few words, the spill valve is stuck and leaving the microswitch off. So the electric motor cannot turn. One final hint is that sometimes the spill valve is difficult to remove. So all one has to do is attach water supply and switch on the pump. With the pressure produced the spill valve will be pushed out. In my oponion this job must be done by a person who knows what he is doing. Carefull that you have safety electrical breakers. See that you have safety shoes, safety gloves and eye protection.
Regards,
Fulltech.

Isn't there a bleed off valve on the unit. Typically they get stuck and pulsing is the result.

08 outlaw 90 no start clean carb run great 2 weeks cuts off few times start back then no start air cleaner bad clean crab no start plug drippin wet run 4 few gas hafe off

if the plug/s are wet , that is flooding and that is excessive fuel or float level , probably from a problem in the needle and seat area where the fuel supply is not being controlled
remove the needle and seat and clean all dirt and rubbish from the needle ans seat area
could come from rust and dirt in the tank so consider an inline fuel filter before the carby/s

Walking Foot Trouble

sounds to me like you are getting what I call "flagging" of the material... where a tiny bur or something catches the material and pulls it up. If possible increase the presser a bit on the presser foot. You might also have the wrong foot for the machine or simply a defective one.

Also when it does this... do you notice any bobbin thread on top of the seam?

New rotary nozzle will not work. will spin and then stop and repeats.

By rotary nozzle do you mean the dirt blaster? or a different accessory? if it is the dirt blaster it could be that there is air in the system. take the dirt blaster lance off, then pull the trigger with high pressure untill you get a complete flow of water. then put the dirt blaster onit should work.

Another thing that could have happened is if you have bought the wrong dirt blaster for your machine as there are different types for different models.

Have a 2400 karcher press. washer engine starts runs fine for 15 sec . then quits .I walk away and come back in 10 minutes does same thing. Checked tank and it is not plugged. Appears to have vacuum fuel...

It sounds like the fuel bowl is not filling quickly enough. Turn the fuel tap off. Then take the fuel bowl off the carby. You will see a plastic float. Above the float is a needle (small pin like) that should shut the fuel off & let it run also. Turn the fuel back on,the fuel should be running out quickly. Push the float up and the fuel should stop running. If no fuel is coming out then the needle is stuck. Clean with carby cleaner and push up & dowm a few times to ensure it is working OK. You may need to replace needle. Turn fuel off. Put fuel bowl back on and turn fuel tap on. Test.

I am trying to clean my block paving using my pressure washer Karcher 3.99, which I used successfully last summer, however, it is not cleaning well. I have used the high power nozzle but the power seems...

Hello Sue, you don't say where in the world you live, but if you are attempting to clean dirt and algae off pavers, you need to add a solution to the water jet via the inbuilt attachment. Mix a fairly mild solution of bleach and detergent, pus a dash or deodoriser to the cantainer. Put your karcher on low pressure and give all the blocks a good wetting. Do this in the morning so the solution doesn't dry. After 20 ~30 mins, Claen off with the Karcher on normal high pressure (not the tubo lance). HINT: Leave the trigger on all the time and don't stop and start using it. This will prevent hayraulic hammer which can split the pump head.

My husband has a husqvarna self propelled mower that was running great and now all of a sudden it will not allow him to pull the string to start it? I believe the model is gcv190? Do you think something...

the problem with tilting the mower on its side is that you put oil up in the carburator.that makes the needle let dirt through it.remove the spark plug and pull the recoil a few times until you do not see any more fuel comming out.once all the fuel is out of the cylinder, reinstall the spark plug, chech oil level.you should change the air filter.it probally has oil in it and will make the engine not run right..start the mower and let it run awhile.the problem shoul clear it self up.if it happens again you will have to clean the dirt from inside the carburator.hope this helps let me know...................
