SOURCE: Kenmore 106.53603202 stopped cooling making a clicking sound

The compressor may not have to be changed it could be the relay that is bad, not properly starting the compressor. The relay is attached to the compressor where the wires go to it. Remove it, Shake it, If it sounds like little rocks are inside (it rattles) than it is bad. Let me know what you find

Check the thermostat. make sure it is turned on. The thermostat can shut it off. Also check to see if you have power to that outlet you are using. If none of that is the problem you can try and bypass the thermostat with a jumper wire( If you are comfortable with do this) Be careful when doing this cause electric shock is possible. don't touch any wires directly

SOURCE: Maytag refrigerator clicking noise and stopped working

How long a period of time have you noticed this noise? If it just started and the refrigerator just stopped it could have entered its defrost cycle. When the defrost heaters come on you may hear the heat causing some expansion. After a few minutes(18-22) the defrost cycle ends and the refrigerator will restart.

SOURCE: Making clicking sound motor gets hot but not cooling

Your PTC relay on the compressor is bad needs to be replaced.

First be sure to unplug cooler. Remove the cardboard cover that covers most backs of the units. Remove the plastic cover that is on the side of compressor. It is held on with a metal clip. Now you should be able to see the relay pry the relay straight off. note the wiring and position of relay. Only three prongs on compressor. Go to a parts house for appliance's and with your make and model number should be able to get a new one. Let me know if you need any more help. ken

Haier chest freezer doesn't cool, indicator lights don't come on, doesn't make noise when plugged in, could the indicator lights stop it from working?

If compressor isn’t running, it’s either a thermostat / control board problem, or a power supply problem.

My Haier refrigerator, model # AES44W, the compressor will not start. The relay keeps clicking apparently to keep it from damaging the compressor. Do I need a new overload protector as it does not have a...

This sounds like the relay has gone on the compressor. Call your local appliance parts store
(no model no. needed) and ask for a hard start kit. Instructions are on kit.
I use ERP 410 powerstart relay capacitor and over load. See it has everything and is much better than the original.
Remove the back cover, pull the original relay off the compressor pins, cut the two wires and install according to instructions. Very easy job.

Safty switch

Have a qualified person (electrician) check the wiring in the outlet to make sure there is no bad connections or burnt wires behind the outlet,I would start at the outlet where the appliance burned up.The only thing in the system to replace would be the wire itself ,bad breaker or fuse depending on your elecrical panel, the fuse would be obvious and the breaker would not be able to be reset, but it sounds like you have power to the outlet, bad connections cause heat, which could cause a fire,Please have this checked by an electrician to be safe and a peice of mind.

Haier ESA 3185 AC won't cool; makes escalating loud vibrating noise near front panel/ filter

Have someone check the run capacitor of this unit. If the run capacitor is bad over shorted it can cause the unit to run and short cycle on a current overdraw. This makes for an electrical imbalance in the compressor motor. Next step is the compressor is faulty.
