Check the thermostat. make sure it is turned on. The thermostat can shut it off. Also check to see if you have power to that outlet you are using. If none of that is the problem you can try and bypass the thermostat with a jumper wire( If you are comfortable with do this) Be careful when doing this cause electric shock is possible. don't touch any wires directly
SOURCE: Maytag refrigerator clicking noise and stopped working
How long a period of time have you noticed this noise? If it just started and the refrigerator just stopped it could have entered its defrost cycle. When the defrost heaters come on you may hear the heat causing some expansion. After a few minutes(18-22) the defrost cycle ends and the refrigerator will restart.

Your PTC relay on the compressor is bad needs to be replaced.
First be sure to unplug cooler. Remove the cardboard cover that covers
most backs of the units. Remove the plastic cover that is on the
side of compressor. It is held on with a metal clip. Now you should be
able to see the relay pry the relay straight off. note the wiring and
position of relay. Only three prongs on compressor. Go to a parts house
for appliance's and with your make and model number should be able to
get a new one. Let me know if you need any more help. ken
