2 Compaq TC 1100 - neither boots

I've got 2 1100's -- neither boots.
One gets the 'Operating system not found' and cannot see the harddrive in the bios.
The other DOES see the harddrive in the bios but won't boot - instead I get a black screen with white blinking cursor.
I'm assuming the first has a controller issue so we'll skip that.  The second is obviously a software/drive problem. The problem for me here is that I don't have the dvd/cd dock; I have tried putting a usb dvd on but it doesn't see the usb (driver issue) -- I do have the software reinstalls - is there anyway I can install the re-install cd by pulling the drive out?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

You did not mention what windows version you are running. Do you have a boot disk? Also, are you pressing F2 F12 or F10 or what other option work when you first turn on your compute? Once you are in the advance mode make sure the settings in the bios is set to boot from the USB before the hard drive. If you go into advanced options, you should be able to run a scan of your computer to find errors.

Try first to clean you memory using the eraser and put it again. Then u can use flashdrive in installing your windows. It can be that your cd/dvd drive is the problem. Hope this can help.

Propleam with bcompaq tc 1100 audio driver

Driver errors.

Go into Control Panel and select Device Manager.
Look down the list of services and click on the missing sound driver, (click on whichever one is highlighted or has a sign on it telling you it is not working properly) and select Update Drivers within the drivers sub menu. Let Windows do its stuff or let the computer find it within System or System 32 directory on your hard drive. If it can't find it, let Windows find a driver on the internet or better still, download the driver from the manufacturers web site.
Hope this helps.

Hi i m having Compaq TC1100 now there is error on starting that operating system not found how i do the things, this tc not having any optical drive

It's bloody hard. Take it to a PC repair shop. I've just done it with a TC1000 (previous model) and it takes a good 3 hours + some extra equipment/software.

"Operating System Not Found" in Compaq Tablet PC TC 1000

That means it is unable to see your harddrive. Unlike a tower computer a laptops harddrive plugs straight into the motherboard this cannot be a cable fault.
Either the harddrive has died or the motherboards drive controller has gane bad.
You will need to seek profesional help to deal with this, the only thing you can do your self would be to swap the harddrive with another and see if you get a Windows stop message, your machine would not be able to start the Windows of another machine because of hardware differences, but if you got a Windows error message at least it would tell you if your harddrive was dead or not.
