For your Plana Dome C3i you can get the drivers and CXtra calibration software under the cx section at ndssi.com. You must use a DX2 card (eBay) and XP. No go on W7 for those.

SOURCE: backlight replacement

Are you sure it's the backlight? Many Planar LCD monitors have issues with the capacitors on their power supply boards. The symptoms include a power light and no picture, or just a flash of a picture when powering up and then nothing.

The fix for some of these problems is about $8 on new capacitors (Plus shipping).

On the PL2010M monitors you need the following parts. I've added digikey part numbers to make life easier:

P10271-ND 220UF 25V Capacitor (3/4 depending on PS)
P10275-ND 470UF 25V Capacitor (1)
P10221-ND 470UF 10V Capacitor (4)

If you're not comfortable with soldering and de-soldering electronics, take it to a local technitian for the work and give them the parts list above. That should work if the failure looks like I described. I've fixed several of these monitors so far. All the problems were related to the power supplies. Same with the Planar PL1700 LCD monitors.

SOURCE: Planar 2010M auto adjust

This may be related to a power supply problem that these monitor have. I think you need to fix the power supply board inside the display itself. It's giving the logic board and backlights fluctuating power and they have weird / intermittant problems.
There is a supplier of power boards online, you can google them with numbers from the board but I don't suggest using them. Look for information on the company before you buy from them. I've seen a lot of complaints for this "international" company.

First check that you are getting a strong 12V from the external power adapter. If so, the problems may be as simple as changing out a few capacitors. (about $8 in new capacitors, plus shipping)

There is also a single capacitor on the display logic board, but I haven't seen this one go bad yet.
Good luck!

SOURCE: Planar PE191M monitor display will not stay on

iv come across this before sometimes people can see that the monitor is actually working but the light has gone out id say bad capacitors that are breaking down. if you want to DIY it take it apart and find the light pcb usually built on the power supply pcb and look for bulging or swolen capacitors this happens alot in my opinion. if you can DIY it get the same caps or same value but better ones. I might be wrong but worth a look

SOURCE: How to reset LCd Planar pl17000 monitor

It is not reset problem, more likely to have failure inside the monitor.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Is there any possibility to use Planar Dome C5iGray monitors with Windows 7

Most monitors don't need special drivers. Plug it in, and Windows should be able to figure out what it needs to do.

Win 7 driver

Not possible.... same as with the C5i I posted on. By the way, you don't need a dual link cable to run either the C3i or the C5i with the DX2 card..... single link DVI only is fine.

I Bought two planar dome C3I , i dont have graphic card.

Only the Planar Dome DX2 card..... no other. Planar did this on purpose to sell those cards at 2k each. Now very reasonably priced on eBay, but they'll only work on XP, not W7.

Is this display a single link or dual link display? do you know the horizontal and vertical timings at 2048x2560 resolution?

That's a medical monitor; supposedly timings up to 200 hz (programmable). Here's a link to a spec sheet: http://www.lcdpanels.com/part_pics/A57-C5IGRAY-00.pdf.
All I did was google "DOME C5i"; got lots of info.
Not finding what you are looking for?
