My Dometic 2352 refrigerator works fine on AC but doesn't work well on gas. On gas it keeps the feeezer frozen but can barely keep the lower compartment below 50 on a hot day. I have checked the burner and saw no problems. On gas, I can feel hot air coming out of the upper outside vent. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: My Beaumark Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Doesn't Work

problem is probably that the evaporator is frozen up preventing circulation of air and the fan is jammed with ice.
remove the back panel inside the freezer. melt off the ice with a hairdryer taking care not to heat up any stats mounted on the pipework.
appliance will now work but this is a temporary repair. you must find out the cause of the ice build-up ie why not defrosting.
for starters, check the defrost heater and the thermal cut-out inseries with it.
let me know how you get on and what you find. make sure the fan is free to rotate.

SOURCE: Kitchenaid KSRA25IL Freezer working Fine - Refrigerator not

I had a similar problem where the refrigerator side was not cooling well but I could feel very little air coming through the vent in the top left corner.I blew hot air from a blow driver into the vent for about 1 minute which melted ice that was hanging from the bottom of the vent cover.Cold air started blowing harder thru the vent and cured the problem.

SOURCE: RV refrigerator works fine on AC power. Burns for 30 seconds on gas power then shuts off.

tap on the gas valve with a wrench, not too hard but not too light about 10 times, the valve is probably sticky from not being used,re-light and see what happens.

SOURCE: my dometic 2611 dosent want to operate correctly.

If your unit is automatically switching from AC to gas for no reason, then you either have a problem with the power supply or the lower control board. On the outside of the fridge, there is a black box located in the lower left corner, this box is the control unit. The control unit senses the incoming power source and automatically switches it to LP if no AC power is available.

Turn the refrigerator on and set it to auto. Let it run until you notice that it switches to gas. Immediately go outside and check for incoming 120VAC power at that lower board. If you have power there, then you have a bad board. If you do not have power, then you have a power supply problem. Check the electrical plug and outlet in the fridge compartment and also make sure that your GFCI's throughout the coach are ok.

Hope this helps,

Jeff

SOURCE: Refrigerator compartment not cooling properly.

Yes The circulating fan behind the rear freezer wall is waring out. The fan with labor and material cost is around $300.00.

Dometic rm2652. Inside of fresh food section is down to 20 degrees, everything froze

Since this unit has no compressor and uses an ammonia mix and heat to cool, it isn't your standard household refrigerator. So be careful working around the coils.

The most common failure for your problem description is the thermoster followed closely by the lower control board. But we have also been finding more and more corrosion buildup on the terminals that is keeping the unit from functioning correctly. Suggest you ohm check the thermoster to see if it has opened. If that shows an open, then replace. If that doesn't work, then take the lower control board out and clean the terminals and connectors with a scouring pad following by the #2 pencil eraser cleaning of connectors. If that doesn't correct it, then replace the lower control board.

NDR 1292 - Was freezing/cooling on electric, but stopped freezingcooling, tried gas but doesn't freeze or cool

Since it does not work on either AC or gas - do you have DC to the unit? I have spent many hours troubleshooting a Dometic that turned out to be a corroded DC connection.

Refrigerator suddenly went out last night. there was some clicking sound from the converter earlier?? I think it is still able to work on gas. It started cooling in the freezer

According to the service manual if it doesn't work on AC but works on gas it should be one of the following AC Volts

Fuse

Heating Element

Wiring
Lower Circuit Board

Where you say there was a clicking sound you might also want to make sure the DC volatage is correct.

Here is a downloadable copy of the service manual.

Dometic Americana RM2852 refrigerator does not work. Has power to it, light inside works and lights at top indicating 'AUTO' mode are illuminated, but refrig doesn't work in any mode. Gas is...

Have the same unit but experience no problems. Sounds like a freon leak has left it inert. You can of course switch from auto to gas and eliminate the auto switch over as part of the problem. You can see the gas flame in the outside access hatch, (or maybe hear it) to be sure it is getting gas. since it doesn't respond in auto, which would also work in electric mode, I think it is the freon problem.
