I have a GE washing top load washing machine, and it has filled up, but won't switch to the next cycle. I have attempted the troubleshooting suggestions from the manual, with no luck. Right now, the tub is full, but the machine just won't move to the next cyle, to agitate, rinse or spin. I have tried different settings with no luck. Any help would be appreciated. WILL NOT GO TO SPIN CYCLE i have a maytag alantis and it will fill up with water but wont run after that. no motor sounds or nothing. what can this be??
Lid switch if its a Maytag Alantis... You said you have a GE top load in the start of your problem and ended witha maytag?

sound like the lid switch is open, if that doesn;t fix it try the water level switch

maytag washer dryer stack unit , model # lse7806ace washer fills with water but won't agitate or do anything else. I had the same problem a year ago and replace the lid switch asssemby and fuse and it worked fine until now. the switch clicks when I open and close the lid and the pink and orange wires show continuity with the lid closed.

My Maytag Atlantis does the same thing, wont cycle after it fills. Lid sensor wa replaced 4 months ago. Could it be bad again?
