SOURCE: I inherited a Coleman Electric

I find this tips about how to Use Coleman Smokers
1.- Soak the wood chips. The first thing that must be done before you start cooking with smoke at all is the soaking of the wood chips. If you are camping, the best idea is to soak your wood chips before you leave, then pack them in plastic food containers with a small amount of water to keep them moist. Before you pack them, let them soak overnight in a bucket of water.
2.- Insert the wood chips. Take off the top part of your Coleman smoker. Underneath you will find the area where the propane flame will be. On top of that, there should be a small metal container that either resembles a grill top, or a metal basket with holes (depending on which model you have). Place your wood chips inside this metal holder.
3.- Ignite the propane fire. After safely connecting the portable propane tank to the Coleman smoker, turn the propane valve on to release the gas. Ignite the propane in your smoker with a match, being sure to extinguish the match in water when you have finished lighting it. Replace the top of the smoker and secure in place before continuing.
4.- Cook the meat. On top of the smoker, there will be a grill top. Place the meat onto the grill top, making sure there is room for the smoke to get to all the pieces. Put the lid on top of the smoker and let the meat cook for five or six hours. Afterward, be sure to fully extinguish the propane fire, making sure that the gas valve has been shut off completely. Always have a bucket of water handy for emergencies when cooking with gas and an open flame.

How do you connect the propane to the stove

Assuming you are referring to the Coleman Campers Grill Stove which is a side by side grill and stove unit than it is a pretty simple set up. All portable Coleman stoves set up basically the same. There should be a arm known as a regulator that came with the stove. The narrow end of this attaches to the right side of the stove and screws in. Then the propane bottle screws into the other larger end. make sure all connections are screwed together tightly. For more clarification check out these instructions:

Hi I lost my regulator assembly for the camp stove model # 842-A100-W. Where can i purchase a replacement. & can you use a different one like for a coleman camp stove???

Hi bearsmommy19...
Yes you can use a generic regulator/coleman on your brinkman...just make sure the threads all match, if not, then adapters in brass can be bought at the local hardware HomeDepot,Lowes, etc.
Then you can install them to adapt your regulator to your brinkman grill

I have use Coleman fuel in my stove..is that ok? Also can't get it started

The Optimus Nova is a multi-fuel stove. Coleman fuel will work in the Nova. Coleman fuel, generically called "white gas", is a chemically pure form of gasoline, same as what you put in your car but with less impurities.

The nozzles all liquid fuel stoves can clog from time to time. Follow the instructions in the manual for cleaning. If you don't have a manual you can find it at:

Hope this helps.

Coleman instastart propane stove regulator wanted

Check to see if Coleman has an attachment to replace the regulator, so that you can use a five gallon cylinder with your stove and your own regulator.
