What is the problem?

I got a jvc tv-13142 at a pawn shop but some of the channel is blocked and i need a vchip code to unlock it i try all zeros and it show error how do i reset code

Try these: 0503, 0520, 0617.

Try this:
Turn Unit ON.
Set the DVD Mode.
Press and hold the 'STOP' key on the front panel.
Simultaneously press and hold the '7' key on the remote control unit.
Hold both keys for more than 3 seconds.
The On Screen Display message 'PASSWORD CLEAR' will appear.
The 4 digit password has now been cleared.

I imagine one can figure it out by going through some menu button on the remote and if not well, it won't be long before that function will be no good because next year in Feb, you'll need a converter box to receive TV shows which will be HDTV quality, though you can hook it up to your current TV and just use the record button to record the source from that box. Hope that helps.

if its a durabrand i went to the ORION website and called customer service cause i bought mine from a pawn shop and had the same problem mine is a dtv1907a so here is what you do... unplug any cable, ant, and so on from the back then find a channel that looks like snow where no pic is tryin to come in and then turn the volume all the way down.. hold the down volume down at the same time point the remote to the tv pushing the number "0" hold it till the menu pops up then relese the 2 and just let the menu clear off the screen once the menu clears off the screen the v chip has been reset.. real easy
