Deleting files

If you need to run the recovery utility or format your YH-925, it needs to be in HDD Mode, not MTP mode. To temporarily restore the device back to HDD Mode:
  1. Ensure the YH-925 is powered off and disconnected from the PC
  2. Press and hold the >> button on the side of the device.
  3. While still holding the >> button, connect the YH-925 to your PC.
  4. YH-925 is restored back to HDD Mode until disconnected from the computer.
  5. Format the YH-925 by right clicking on the device in My Computer.

Formating player

Go to Samsung's support site. You can download the manuals and software from there, normally however the YH-925 is managed through Windows Media Player (excuse my language ;-), with the player plugged in you should be able to select it from the left-hand side to get it's management console. It's been some time since I was last forced to suffer Windows so things may have changed, download the manual(s) and if needed the software from the link above for full, plain-English instructions.

FORMATING

Do you mean it can't pass the boot screen? Does that mean if you leave it for an hour it is still trying to start up?

Help

yes. did you drop it? i dropped my old samsung yh-925gs and the same message came up. i had to carefully unscrew it, and reattach the hardrive. it is easy, and you will see what to do. just take it appart, notice where the hardrive is, see the unconnected connection, and click it back together. it is surprisingly easy.

Initial fail error

The HDD is disconnected from the player. When you open up the player just carefully push the circut board thing on the gold foil behind the hdd in untill it clicks.
