Emachines T3642 stuck in reboot and won't boot from CD

I have made sure both the BIOS and BOOT from F2 and F10 have the CD as 1st boot choice. I have the original OS disc from when I bought the computer but it won't come up. I used another computer to make a repair disk from systemdiscs.com and that won't come up either. It just keeps trying to reboot and makes it to "Reboot from CD" (I think that's it) then shuts off and starts over. Help!

SOURCE: trying to restore my emachines comp. When i boot

restore windows xp is the option you want to choose so it can wipe out the drive and put the operating system back on it.

SOURCE: pc keeps trying to start up but states it needs to reboot and won't. I have tried to insert the operation disc and it does not work either

it probably says insert suitable boot device. If you are trying to boot from a cd go into the bios and set the boot device priority to CD as priority. If hard drive then set hard disk to the top.

SOURCE: Unmountable boot volume

Hopefully you have a windows installation cd or a recovery cd. If you do then you need to install it into your cd rom drive. Reboot the computer and you will see a message that says to press any key to boot from CD. If you do not get this message and it goes straight to your boot screen then you should re-enter your BIOS and change the boot order so that the computer will boot from the CD first. Then reboot (if this was the case). When you enter the windows set up you will want to press R to start the recovery console. Select your windows OS by pressing the number corresponding with the listing for windows (most likely "1"). Then you will want to enter your administrative password. If you don't have one, just press enter. This should bring you to a command prompt. Once at the command prompt type CHKDSK. This will perform a scan of your hardrive and fix any errors. Upon restart, your computer should boot into windows. If not, then repeat this process, but instead of CHKDSK, type in fixmbr. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: how do i reboot my windows vista without a disk my

you could try a recovery partition if it has one, but other than that you will need the cd, if you prchased it from a retailer you can contact emachines directly and have them send you the CD, they are supposed to per contract with Microsoft. Sony got into a lot of trouble for not giving customers the install CD

Make sure it has power (ejects). Check Device Manager in Safe Mode by pressing F8 during boot. Right click My Computer > Manage. Select Device Manager > View > Show Hidden Devices. Cant boot up EMachines T3882 no quick boot and f8 does nothing, what do i do?

If you can't get into the bios, you can't start a repair, when it's booting, continually press F2 to get the bios up, if that does nothing reboot an continualy press Del, this is for the bios menu and set the cd drive as first boot device.

If not continually press F8 on boot up this is safe mode, then when youre in highlight last known good configuration and press Enter.

Give this a try as your pc will not be set to boot from cdrom as default and will just try to boot into windows.

Labtop won't turn on

Turn on, hold F8 button down until boot menu appears. Download Norton Boot Recovry to disc from another computer. Install in ur CD/DVD drive. Boot ur computer. Or install ur operating system disc in cCD rom drive. Reboot computer, hold F2 button down, modify BIOS boot sequence so CD Rom in 1st boot device. Boot computer, repair or reinstall operating system.

How to giving boot with different ways to acer travelmate 2423 laptop

1) You can set your boot options in your bios, watch as you laptop boots, you should see something like "Hit F2 to enter setup". Hit F2, select boot options then choose to boot from CD, HDD or external drive. Take care because you don't want to mess up your Bios. So read the screen carefully before changing anything. When you're happy, select save and exit then reboot, you should then boot from the device of choice in the order of choice.

2) Windows boot options, windows has several options for booting from, including safe mode. To do this, hit F8 several times while the laptop is booting, you should come to a screen with the several options on offer.

Having problem with operating system disc....can get to advanced bios menu but do not know what to change the priority of.... first 2 items on the menu won't let me change priority value and the 3rd...

there should be a boot menu command at start up just like you entered the system bios, i believe the e machine boot command is F12 that will give you the opportunity to boot from what ever you want on that boot only. so in your case of course you would scroll down to cd and hit enter. press any key to boot hit any key and boot.

If you don't see the "press any key to boot from cd" text message, it means you should enter bios menu and set your CD/DVD as your first boot drive (F2 to enter bios and F8 to enter directly into boot menu to select first boot device)

Boot from CD does not work.

You should definately be given the choice to boot from cd, when you press F2 to get into the bios and go to boot options, what boot options do you have?

If you go into the bios you should have the choice to boot from ide (hard drive), cdrom, floppy disk, network (on some) and try other boot media.

Are you going into the boot option in the bios by pressing F2.
