Where can I get an owner's manual for an AT&T model 1810 phone and answering machine? The number of voice messages indicator light is flashing "0" and the voice mail is not working. Batteries are good. We disconnected electrical and phone lines from system long enought to paint wall around both outlets & reconnected both. System no longer answers incoming calls. We also have caller ID system connected to phone.

you need to reset the cordless phone. This sounds like a lightning strike , if it was the phone is finished. Unplug it , wait 20 seconds and plug it back in again.

It maybe hardware issue. Make sure the recording DTAM chip is working. You can try to record your personal annoucement, to see if the chip still record message.

Power Failure Recovery
If the system is disconnected from the AC power it will not operate. Your announcemen and messages are retained in memory during a power failure but you will need to reset the clock. See the instructions on the bottom of the unit. If the message window displays CL, you need to reset the clock. See the instruction on the bottom of the unit.

The unit appears to be stuck in "message retrieval mode) and is asking for your password to give you access when you call in(remote answering). You need to return the unit to it's factory default settings. If you don't still have the instructions you can get them here:http://telephones.att.com/docMgt/public/art/309494/1739_manual.pt2.pdf. Hope this helps!
