SOURCE: Lego Island

Older programs will sometimes not work with Vista. This is likely the reason that Lego Island 2 (a 2001 game) will work a opposed to Lego Island (a 1997 game). There are a few things that you can try, though:

  1. Right click the 'play game' icon and select 'Properties'
  2. Click the 'Compatibility' tab at the top of the window
  3. Click the 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:' box and select Windows XP or Windows 98/Window ME (you can try another later if one doesn't work)
  4. Make sure that the 'Run this program as an administrator' box is selected.
  5. Click 'OK' and close the window
Give the icon the good ol' double click and see if she works. There's no guarantees that this will work with Vista since it is an older program, but this is where I would start.

I hope this helps!

DirectX
Microsoft DirectX 9.0c (April 2006 Edition) is included on this CD. You will be prompted to install DirectX during the installation of this game if this or a more recent version is not already properly installed on your system.
NOTE: DirectX may require the "latest" updates for your operating system. This may also include the latest drivers for your motherboard, sound, and video hardware.

Installation: Installation requires 3.5 GB of free hard drive space. We recommend that you have an additional 500 MB of free space available after installing the game for the Windows swap/page file.

You must have local Administrator rights to properly install LEGO Star Wars II and update Dire

No other programs should be running in the background.
System resources should be at least 85% free.

To check this:
Press CTRL-ALT-DEL once, choose Task Manager, choose the Performance tab, and check CPU Usage.
There should be at least 500 MB of free hard disk space after installation.

If you experience performance issues when running LEGO Star Wars II, we recommend that adjust the following options in the Video Options menu:

Lower the video resolution.
Set Antialias to Off
If this option is set to Antialias from Control Panel, you will need to set your Antialiasing Setting to Application-Controlled in the Windows Display Properties for your specific graphics card.
Disable Bloom Effect.

Please close all other programs before running LEGO Star Wars II. This includes virus-scanning, word processing, and Internet programs. Simply disabling these programs will not always help, as the programs still use resources that are needed to run LEGO Star Wars II. If you experience problems completely closing programs that are running, consult the documentation for those individual programs. This is a common problem when trying to completely disable virus-scanning software.

SOURCE: My Onkyo tx-sr606 7.1 receiver turns off by itself

hi, when the unit shuts off by itself, it means that the protection circuity inside has been activated. it can be a problem with the receiver itself or it is just detecting something hooked up to it that can cause possible damage so it shuts off.

you would need to disconnect everything from the back and by itself, try to turn it on, see if it will stay on and then crank the volume way up to max. if it stays on, the receiver is ok and you then need to rehook your devices one by one starting with the speakers until you determine the one causing the receiver to shut off.

however, if the receiver shuts off and won't turn on even by itself, it means that the problem is internal and it either has to go back to your dealer for an exchange or it has to be sent to a repair center for servicing.

hope this helps a bit.. ^_^

This particular area is for fixing problems with motherboards. You are more likely to get an accurate answer when you post in the correct area.
That being said, I'm pretty sure you're talking about lego :) The instruction manuals can be found on the lego website here: http://us.service.lego.com/en-US/BuildingInstructions/default.aspx
