I have an Oakley Saddleback watch that will run flawlessly for a few hours then the second hand start to get erratic,,(click forward a couple seconds then backward a couple seconds) any ideas? Thx, Jim T

Hello, a week ago the small second hand (not long chrono second hand) got stucked and my irony swatch just stop moving. Although the chronometer could be running if started... The small hand just didn't move.
I tried different tricks, like removing battery, pull out main wheel and use chrono buttons to reset arms. Etc.
Today I noticed that when turning the wheel backwards a couple of times (one or two hours back) the little hand moved one second back... Pushing wheel back to On possition made the small hand move forward one second and get stucked again.
Then I did this procedure a couple of times, at some point I turned the wheel back for a while (may be 5 full turns) and noticed the small hand moved more than one second (5, 10, 15 seconds backward)... when I noticed it was moving freely I pushed wheel to on position and noticed the small second hand was running normal.. I hope it works for some of you. Greettings from Canada

Read your manual carefully and you will notice that the big, tall seconds hand is part of chronograph function. So, by pushing upper button you are actually engaging chronograph. This puts more strain on movement gears and consumes more battery power. When your watch is in normal timekeeping mode, the small seconds hand is counting seconds, not the big one which should be steady pointed at 12. Sounds like a failing battery to me. Its very common for a watch to loose time when battery needs to be changed.

On most watches all you have to do is pull the crown to position 2 (the last) and depress pusher A (on the top). The second hand should advance in 1 second intervals. Keep pushing the A pusher until the second hand lines up with 12 hour marker. Push the crown back in and your done!
