The fan motor is thermally protected the motor seems to be cutting out on the overload replace the fan motor

Check capacitor. If unable to check just replace with new one cost about $20 or less this is problem 90% of time.

Hi, I am not sure what kind of system you have but I can help you and tell you why this happens. This is the blower motor, and you also have a return air side on the front of the unit. The air is pulled back through the motor, that the filter doesn't catch, and collects on the blades. This takes place over time. If this is a window or wall unit, you may be able to turn off power and reach in with a brush of some kind to break loose this dirt. What happens over time is the dirt will collect on the windings of the motor causing it to overheat, so you want to clean this the best that you can. Even if you had a small air compressor it would be hard to get the dirt off the blades, but would be good to blow out the loose dirt. If this is a central air unit, you can remove 2 screws in front and slide the assembly out and clean the blades this way. So, find a way that is easy for you and clean as best as you can. TURN IT OFF! You're gonna need a new fan blade! Motor MAY be ok, and hopefully nothing was damaged by the flying blade. Just happens but not often - you're just lucky.

The contactor in the outdoor unit is stuck.You will need to replace the cooling contactor.I am sure it is wielded shut and thus will not turn off.

It sounds like you have a bad capacitor. This will cause the motor to lag and not start. Good luck.

Okay did you check your thermostat to see if you have the fan switch on auto? The switch must be on auto or the fan will continue to run. If the thermostat fan switch is on auto then there is a malfunction in the thermostat probably. You can go to your forced air unit and on unplug the unit. That way it will not turn on at all, because the forced air unit is controlled by the thermostat. Hope this helps.

Check the start capacitor. You may be able to see visual deformaty, otherwise, use a meter. The buzzing is most likely the contactors closing which uses a seperate 24v supply..

Sound like there are running on emergency heat which is elrctric.Have the system checked out buy a local heating and cooling company. Have they checked the filter and changed them.
