The best way to clean your air-conditioning by using pressure washing

If practical - the best way to clean a unit like you're describing would be by using 'air pressure,' to blow the dust out of the coils, squirrel cage, and in and around the fan motor and compressor.
Then take a water hose and wash both coils being real careful to "not" get water in the fan motor. Note: the compressor is sealed so you don't have to worry about it, but try to be careful and keep water out of the controls/wires (you might even use plastic to protect them).
Also, be sure you install a 'clean/new' air filter in the unit itself. This filter goes in front of the evaporator coil which is the coil that gets cold. The other coil - the condenser coil (the one that gets hot) does not need a filter.
good luck!
