Refrigerator side stops cooling

On my frigidaire fridge ice builds up in freezer. And refrigerator side stops getting cooling air flowing thru top side. I then advance timer and heater comes on. afterwards a lot of ice melts and water is at bottom of freezer and there is water present on floor. and when fridge comes back on cooling air is flowing back thru the refrigerator side. Can you help me?

Drain stopped up.
Take out the bottom drawer in the freezer, look at the back wall and you should get a partial view of the bottom of the cooling coils. Directly below these coils is the drain area. You may need a light to see the drain hole. If this area is covered with ice then a hair dryer will help clear this so you can see the drain hole.
I have some O2 tubing that I put down the drain to clear any cloggs. Also, I seal the top of the drain hole around the O2 tubing with tape and use the air from my lungs to clear the drain tube. Pour a little water down this drain hole to make sure it’s clear.

Freezer gets cold but refrigerator does not

blocked air flow from freezer to fridge. Could be ice build up. May have a faulty auto defroster. Freexer is only part that gets cold. The fridge gets it cooling from the freezer.

Water dispenser line frozen, items freezing in fridge side. Freezer constantly running/blowing

Your freezer is what actually cools the refrigerator. The cool air enters from that spot on the top left of the freezer. Make sure that isn't blocked. It's sounds like the thermostat that controls the air flow from the freezer to the refrigerator isn't working or the air flow control device is stuck.

Either way if you can, unload and unplug the unit. This will do to things. First it will reset the circuits that control everything and secondly if the air flow control is frozen thawing out the refrigerator and freezer may free it up.

Refrigerator freezes food

Adjust the "freezer" knob. This adjustment adjust the amount of cold air coming from the freezer to the fridge.

Freezer stopped making ice and now coils in bottom of freezer r freezing up..this is a side by side refrigerator

shut off motors .....let it completely defrost,,,restart the fridge and STOP PACKING IT SO FULL allowing air to flow . if air can't flow freely, the ice maker stops and the freezer frosts up ,...causing the refrigerator side to not cool as well as it should.

the freezer side only works within certain parameters.

Both the Freezer and the Refridgerator quit working...

Do you have ice build up on the back wall in the freezer? If so you have whats called a defrost problem. (can be timmer, adc, heating element or thermostat)... All cold air in you fridge side come from the freezer, therefore if you have ice build up behind back wall in freezer it is blocking air flow....
