I have a Samsung BD-P1400 Blue Ray DVD and the new Wall-e dvd on Blue Ray. The movie freezes for a few seconds, speeds up in other places, and the sound quits in other spots. I do not have any issues with any other blue ray movies including the new Batman movie and the New Narnia - Prince Caspian blue rays. I have returned the Wall-e movie for replacement three times, with similar results on each disk. At one point the movie froze and the only option was to turn the player off and re-insert the disk. I have upgraded the firmware, but the problem still exists. Has anyone else experienced problems with this movie on Blue Ray? Since I have this issue only with this movie I don't suspect the player. Any suggestions?
I would say the problems comes from the way the company formatted the movie onto the blu ray discs. and i would say that there will most likely be a recall on them. if anything connect the manufacturer of the movie. hope this helps you.
Maybe the disc is broken or damaged. To solve this problem, you can seek help from Leawo Blu-ray Copy. It offers you the best solution to copy Blu-ray movie and copy DVD movie without quality loss. This Blu-ray copy software could copy Blu-ray disc of BD50 and BD25, copy Blu-ray folder and ISO image file, copy DVD disc of DVD-9/DVD-5, DVD folder and DVD ISO image file as well. You can use this software to copy your Blu-ray disc to another blank disc or digital format to computer.
You can try upgrading the firmware at

I have to say though, after spending a year trying to get a 1400 to work, and multiple firmware upgrades on same, I gave up and bought a Panasonic BD35 which has been flawless on every movie.
I HAVE PROBLEM TRYING TO PLAY- MAMMA MIA . ON BLUE RAY , ON MY NEW BD-P1400. THIS IS THE SECOND DISC TO REFUSE TO PLAY

I have a similar problem with both Wall-E and Tropic Thunder. They load then go to "slide show" mode.
I'm having trouble with watching movies, particularly blue-ray rentals, that load and then turn into "slide show" mode. I have a Samsung BD-P1400 Blue-Ray Player
I have same problem on my Samsung BD-P1400 when trying to watch certain movies, particularly rentals, that load and then stay in "slide show mode."
When I've tried to watch rental movies on my BD-P1400 player, e.g. Wanted and Hell Boy II, they'd load and stay in "slide show" mode. I then inserted my own movies and they loaded and went into "slide show mode" briefly before playing in movie/playback mode.
same issue, what is the fix ?? is it a glitch in the disc and will disney fix ?
Freezes first with captains face on screen. Â Returned 1 and now going for a refund as second copy has exactly the same problem. Â Tried on a PS3 and Samsung BP1400, all latest firmware.
Same issue, pretty random each time it's played. First half or so plays without problems, then starts happening. Also updated firmware to 2.0
I HAVE THE SOME PROBLEM IT's THE PLAYER . YOU HAVE TO DOWN LOAD THE NEW VISON FOR THE BD-P1400 at samsung
.com
I have the same player with the same issue. Â Even the firmware upgrade didn't fix it...that being said, I hear others are experiencing this from time to time with the PS3.
The new firmware update from Samsung does NOT fix the Wall*E issue. Â I have the latest firmware upgrade and it plays the exact same way....*sigh*
I am trying to watch a Hell Boy 2 rental from Hollywood Video. Keeps locking up and saying "Slide Show". Very frustrating.
Same problem with Philips BDP7100.
Philips was not aware of the problem, but they have no solution for the moment ...
I had the same problem with Wall-E, even the Slide Show scroll instead of the time elapsed on the front of the player. I also had some freezing with TDK, using 2.0 firmware. It's getting to be very annoying trying to watch the new releases and waiting for glitches. Blu Ray, tho it looks good, is a pain.
I have a Panasonic BD55, Wall-E freezes on this machine. All other discs seem to play OK.
it's a little better with the 2.0 firmware. but the problem still here
My Samsung BD-P1400 will not even load the Wall-e movie. I get an error message that ir cannot play the disk and it ejects it.
I find the player to be VERY slow. Music is not played back at a good quality with HDMI or even PCM out.
This is not a good player.
My firmware is up to date and I must say I will nor buy another Samsung prodt after my experince with their poor quality of workmanship and support
Wall-e disc has to be loaded like 10 times in my BD-P1400...then it will boot. I had the same problem with Iron Man though. The latest firmware has been done three times. Still issues. Time for a new one! And not a Samsung. If they break or just don't work I aint buyin another one! Vote with your wallet. Why continue to support a company that built a failed machine and then doesn't want to help when it desn't perform. Buy a Sony.
