If you are using a cable or satellite receiver to tune your channels, they have settings that may be causing the problem. There should be a menu option for System Settings or something similar. Make sure that no type of Zoom has been turned on. Also ensure that your type of TV is set properly. If your TV is a Widescreen then make sure either that or 16:9 is chosen. If all of those settings are correct, and there is no Zoom feature is turned on your TV then there maybe an internal issue with the TV. You'll have to get a technician in to find the problem or check the internal settings that only he can access.

Hi,
5 times blinks shows incorrect white balance (AKB) error. TV needs Screen Volts (G2) adjustment.
Take off lower front panel, find Focus Block that has 6 control knobs, adjust Screen volts of each CRT (red-green-blue) and problem will be solved.
Be Careful while working in TV.
Let me know if you have further question.
Thanks.

Testimonial: "Unfortantly didn't do the trick, during quite a few adjustments as you suggested, I would get a error code 10. Any feedback on this new code?"

II get sound for about 15 sec. but no picture and then shuts off

kp57ws50_57_in_rear_projection_hd_228277.jpg Problem with Sony KP-57WS520 57 in. Rear Projection

This model is really prone to one problem in particular--screen even briefly comes up bright red, green or blue and set shuts down.

15 seconds from turn on front power light should blink as set checks several things internally---if something wrong it does not let picture show.

Usually after shut down or failure power light will blink a sequence of blinks but not always depending on problem.

Did you see the screen at all go red, green, or blue before?

the more you tell me the better I can help

Standby flashes 9 times. Can't turn off TV. No picture. No sound.

Press on sony remote in this order "display - 5 - volume dn. - power" to see self diagnostics. But to fix it you'll need a tv repairman to fix the Zero Cross Detect circuit.

Hi! just need to know if my tv is ready for digital tv i have the sony kp-57ws520. i've hooked up my antenna and i still dont get a picture thanks for any info.

Your Sony KP-57WS520 television has an analog tuner, so you may need a digital tuner or a converter box to continue to receive over-the-air programming.
If you subscribe to a cable or satellite service, your television viewing should not be affected by the June 12, 2009, cut-off date for full-power analog broadcasting. Please contact your service provider for complete information.
