Uninstall the Cisco client. Let Windows control the adapter.

SOURCE: wpa encryption for wireless g adapter

This is a known issue . A WPA encryption does not work for G adapters to N routers. Try to reduce the encryption to WEP and check . Im sure that will work.

WPA is not very stable and I have seen many problems with this. Simply change router setting to be configured with WEP and use a good strong password in hex 0-9 and a-f . WPA is horrible any way, and who the heck is gonna sit out side your home to hack it? It is not a WIN 7 problem but more like aging encryption.

My modem light is orange. every time i reset it it goes from blue to orange

Hi Christopher s crisp,
Is it blinking Orange or steady?
Blinking amber: The Router can't detect the modem. Either the
modem is off, is not plugged into the Router, or is unresponsive.
It could be the modem.
You can try connecting the modem directly to computer bypassing the router and see if that works.
Check the LED on Modem.
Do you have other computers to test the connection?
Might need to talk to ISP if issue with Modem.

Let me know.
Thanks

My Belkin F5D8236-4 v3 Router won't turn on. We had a storm last night and the power went out but the router won't turn on. I have tried to plug it into different outlets to see if that would work...

Try resetting the router. There should be a little hole somewhere on it with a button inside that you can press with a paperclip. Try holding that button down while you unplug then plug the router in while holding it (if possible). If that doesn't work, I'd suspect the storm might've damaged the router somehow. Was it plugged into a surge protector, and/or have you noticed any other issues with anything else that was turned on at the time?

Hi. My Belkin wireless pre-n has no power, no lights. Tried different power adapter and reset, but no lights. Mark

If you cant get power to it try another power adapter with same amps if that dont work its most likely shot its most likely a diode if you can solder you can take it apart and with ohm meter figure out the one that is burnt most likely be better off purchasing one,

Solved: Belkin G+ Mimo Wireless Router Issue Hi All

Ever since i bought this Belkin G+ Mimo Router, i've been having this problem, but couldn't find the time to take it back (or too lazy, whatever). :P

Trouble is, frequently when surfing the net, the router disconnects, for no reason. It happens almost everytime i go on youtube, and just some random sites i go on, will cause the router to disconnect. Can't seem to find the answer anywhere else, so i took it upon myself to register and ask you guys. Have no clue what the problem is, was thinking maybe a port issue, but since the router is uPnP i don't see how, besides, could that even cause it to disconnect? Anyway, any help is appreciated.

We have recently installed a Belkin Surf Modem Router. Since it's installation, we are sometimes having issues sending & receiving email. Internet and wireless connection are fine. We are able to...

HI,

I got your issue, you must make sure the firmware is upto date in your router since in the surf wireless router we have the issue only because of firmware.

Click here to download the firmware.

Update it in the router using a wired computer, if you do it in a wireless comp, connection will be disconnected.

I'm sure this will work.

Good Luck!

Thanks in Advance!

Regards,
Prema.

Internet keeps getting disconnected.Computer needs rto restart

there is nothing to do with adapter... you need to check with some other laptop to isolate where is the issue...

if your laptop works fine without dropping connection then get a replacement for your belkin adapter...

if your laptop also looses connection, then you need to check your wireless router...

Go to Start | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services
