You cannot use a Wireless Access Point (WAP) to connect directly to your IPS's modem. A WAP does not provide the ability to share a single IP address on the internet like a router does.
Either return the WAP for a refund and buy a wireless router or buy an Ethernet wired-only router and plug the WAP into the LAN side of that router. You would then plug the WAN side of the Ethernet wired router into your modem.
Network settings on your computer right click on lan network and properties go to ipv4 properties and use the following. IP address 192.168.1.2 255.255.255.0 router defaut in the default gateway settings (mine was 192.168.1.245) enter that again in the dns primary (dont worry about the secondary) plug an ethernet cable to your wireless router and type in the default gateway. that will get you to your logon page.

Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable. Then you can access it with following link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password" Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are not able to access router with above ip then check your computer's ip settings. Fir that go to start->run type in run "ipconfig" without "" then press enter . then you can get ip configuration check your gateway ip it is your routers ip. Try with that ip then you can access your router. Then Click on
wireless security check wep or WAP or WPA code it is your password to connect internet
.You can also change it there then save and restart router to take
effect. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.
Make sure that your router is set for an "encryption system" that is similar to all your computers and mobile devices. Example, if your router is set to encrypt using WAP2, make sure all your devices connect and is capable to connect using WAP2. Or else, set it to WAP and set your devices to WAP also.
It really happen when your using the setup CD to configure it. You can also try to manually configure the router to work with your modem and ISP and also the wireless connection. To configure the router manually you just need to access the router user interface and configure it from there.
