It's the same throughout all brands.... Remove battery cover or any cover holding sim card and/or SD card.
Locate the position the sim card is placed and insert it correctly. Do the same with the SD card if you have one. Put the device back together then switch on. The phone will check your sim card and connect to your network provider (if phone is unlocked to all networks) you will find out quick enough if the phone is locked to another provider, it won't work !
Assuming it pairs with your network, the on-screen instructions will tell you how to proceed, like any email accounts etc that you want synchronised with your device. It should automatically load your previous contacts and will install some updates automatically too.
These are generic instructions for the average type phone, read any manual you have carefully. but this is the general way..... good luck.
One more thing....make sure the device is charged.

Your phone may be locked to its Network, that's why it shows "sim card not valid". In order to use other Networks, you need to unlock your phone. 1. Open the back cover and remove the battery
2. Open the sim card holder and inser the sim, make sure the contact part of the sim connects the contact part on the phone.
3. close the sim holder
4. put the battery back and close the lid.

You must activate your MMS (Multimedia message service) from your SIM card provider. See in the SIM card manual to activate or just contact costumer service of your SIM card. Or you can search manual setting for your SIM card via browsing in Google.

The SIM card slot is located beneath the battery pack. To access the same , you would have to remove the back cover of the device and remove the battery . The instruction for the same are given on page 14 of the user manual.

To charge the battery, you need a compatible charger.
