Mirco SD card shows free space 0 bytes and used space 0 bytes

I have used an 8 GB micro SD card with my camera to record the recordings on. I had used up almost 7.5 GB of data on the card, I then took another video from my camera. But now when i connect the micro SD card to my computer, it detects the external drive (card) but is not able to display any contents. It says that the used space is 0 bytes and the free space is 0 bytes. Has anyone experienced this problem? How do i recover the files from the mirco SD card. Please guide

Click on the drive and then in windows select tools then folder options, then view and select or unselect hidden files or folders, plus hide protected files.
This should show all files on the card.
The only other thing I can think of is that the camera uses a different format to Windows. So it can't read the card.

SOURCE: pen drive display free space 0 byte and used space also 0 byte

Try formatting the drive. Assuming Windows XP, just open your "my computer" icon, right-click on the device and choose format. Be aware, formatting will remove any data you may have had on there previously.

If you're using another OS, or if it's an existing drive, please re-state your question giving further details (what OS, what you are trying to retrieve, etc).

Dear sir,
Here is the solution conect it to the system, right click on your thumb drive icon appered in your computer,go to the properties, then click on tools tab, then click on check now, if there is no check disk window, keep your pen drive to the system(dont remove) restart the system.now windows checking disk for error dont skip checking,it checks your thumb drive also, and fixes file system errors.after arrival of desktop now open my computer open your pen drive.Your pen drive must open normally. thi deffinately solves your problem.
If it not opening you have to format your pen drive no other solution for this.

I have 4gb micro sd card whin i format it show me 3.69 gb

1 GB = 1024 MB (mega bytes)
1 MB =1024 KB (kilobytes)
1 KB = 1024 bytes
1 GB = 1024*1024*1024 bytes
1 GB = 1073741824 bytes

But manufacturers count 1GB as 1000000000 bytes, so it's normal that a sd card which advertise being 4GB is in reality 3.7GB (4000000000 / 1024 / 1024 / 1024 = 3.72 GB).

I added a 2gb mirco SD card to my Sansa e270 6.0gb player, but the memory is still only showing 10mb of the original 6.0 gb available for use. How do I get the Sansa to recognize and use the 2 gb mirco SD...

Hi,when you purchase a new micro SD card before use, youwill need to format the memory card so that you will be able to know the actual size of the Micro SD card by checking the details after formatting it.

After formatting the micro SD card and checking the details, if you still do not see the accurate size which is about 1.88mb or the about, that means the micro SD card you bought needs to be replaced. Not a good one.

Have a nice day.

I downloaded a song on my laptop, saved it to my sd card, put the card in the mirco br, but it doesnt show up??

It is in different format. You must go through a format convertor to make it compatible. Use Google to find Micro BR format convertors.

2gb sd card but available only 1gb

levyveress,
Well you have a 1GB SD card, there are roughly 1,073,741,824 bytes max per gig. They vary slightly from USB flash drives it total bytes, but the number should be 1,930 (or something close) MB for the 2Gig SD card, bring it back it may have been mislabeled on the packaging.
