I have the same problem. Cleaned filters, lights were never on to indicate they needed to be cleaned but i cleaned them anyway. Tried resetting lights by holding 10 seconds and nothing.....

Indoor unit fan blows, then stops etc. every 1-2 minutes

At least it is cooling properly. U might just want to call Mitsubishi and ask them if it is operating normally based on your observations.

Fresh Air purifiers are noted for two weak points. The display circuit board and the main circuit board. Call (336) 499-2505 and they will help you work through the problem. They give away information.

The plug in the back may have come loose that connects the buttons & lights to the circuit board. Have you ever taken the machine out of the wood carcass? You will need to do so to re-connect the plug.

Power won't come on switch does'nt lite up fan does'nt work

First, are you sure that outlet that the unit is plugged into really works? The other situation would be a blown fuse on the back of the unit. Also, make sure that the filter on the back of the unit is seated properly and making contact with the safety switch. Check all three things. It could be any of them.

It will not turn on it says it locked how do i get this off of the screen and get it to turn on quiet flow is the nameof it

Crystal, first turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF. Unplug the unit from the wall outlet and wait 12-15 minutes before plugging the unit back in. After you plug it in, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON and set the controls as you wish. Hopefully, during that 12 - 15 minute timeout, the unit reset itself and should now work normally.

If that doesn't solve the problem, you can call Hunter Technical Support. In the US dial 888-830-1326.
In Canada dial 866-268-1936

I just washed the electrostatic grid and didnt have it thougholy dryed before inserting it back into the unit. Now I cant get the power light to turn on

As long as you have the cells in the correct direction, the air flow direction you should be O.K. If you have a way of turning on a constant fan that will help dry them. I would shut the power button off to the electric air cleaner and run a constant fan for 24 hours. After that, turn the power on and the constant fan off. Turn up the heat and see if it works.

Alpine XL-15 fan has stopped working

Hello night light,

How you proceed is going to depend on how comfortable you are taking it apart.

Given it's age and purchase condition, warranty isn't an issue. You will either be able to dis-assemble the purifier and try taking the motor apart and reassembling, or you can find a replacement motor (I've seen some on the web, they start at ~$50).

Another possibility is that the fan pot (the rotary switch that the knob turns to adjust the fan speed) may be out. If you have a multi-meter, see if you can get a signal through (when it's all the way open). If not, try replacing that first. Parts are available onthe web, I can't advertise per FixYa's terms of use.

Hope this helps.

Clean Filter Red light

I cleaned the filters as well earlier and the red filter light still blincked to clean the filters. Then I pushed the power button for about 10 seconds continously and then turned it on and the light turned off.

Fans not working

Yeah, I had this happen to one of mine, the motor bearing siezed. Even though mine had run out of warranty and I kludged a fix for it Oreck replaced it anyways after inspecting the unit.

Temporary kludges that worked: light machine oil on the motor bearing, flipping the motor over internally, turning the unit on its edge so that it rides on a 'fresh' part of the bearing, running the unit on 'high' while I was out of the house.

Also make sure the safety interlock switch is properly closed when re-assembled. It's the springloaded switch inside the little notch in the chassis - the small tab on the lint screen should fit in and push that switch closed. If you do it wrong, the unit won't work. You should hear an audible click when the tab closes the switch.
