The cloudiness or turbidity of your water indicates a leaking or damaged filter membrane/element. The green color is due to the growth of algae. Are you using the right algaecide? Is the dose right? You have to consult a water treatment specialist to know these.

Algae removal from Intex Ultraframe pool with salt water/sand pump

Its a very tough strain of black alhae. Shocking the pool with liguid chlorine will do the trick. First lower the ph level by adding muriatic acid(either pool store or local hardware store carries it). This lowers the ph level quickly. Pour it around the edge of the pool. Wait an hour than add the liquid chlorine. Let circulate for 24 hrs than vacuum to waste. The chlorine is more potent when the ph level is lower, thus the use of the acid

We have a Krystal Clear Saltwater System Model CS8110. We are first time pool buyers. We set up the pool last week and despite several "boosts" the chlorine level is very low. The pool store...

You should always follow the instructions on the manual .. I have a 18X33X4 oval and had to start with over 350 lbs of salt and ran the pump without the chlorinator for 24 hours to properly disolve the salt. Then, I started with 12 hrs pump cycle with 10 hrs of chlorination in between the 12 hrs. Keep checking the chlorine level and adjust time from there. Currently at temperatures of 85 to 100, I run the system at 10 hrs pump with 8 hrs chrlorinator and water is Crystal Clear... In the 2 years with the intex system, I have not added any chemicals to my pool. I once had an issue when the water level went low while I was on vacation, when I came back, the chrolinator had turned off due to low flow and my pool water was green.. As soon as I re-started the cycle, a few days later, Crystal Clear again... NO CHEMICALS OR SHOCK added.... Hope this helps....

Need to know what kind of chemicals and chlorine tablets or what to add to the Krystal Clear Model 635 Filter Pump and where do they go. Manuel only talks about changing filter.

The chemicals are added to the pool or spa, not to the pump or filter. Get some basic knowledge on pool water treatment either by reading or going to a local pool / spa shop.

When I worked at a municipal pool, we used Chlorine Gas in 4 foot steel bottles. It was evil stuff. You need test equipment so you don't over dose the water.

The brown-green gunk sounds like algae. You stated that you have cleaned the filter. Have you taken the cartridge completely out? If not, I would suggest that you do so. Scrub the inside of the filter tank with a 4:1 bleach water mixture, only 1 part bleach. Then soak the cartridge in an acid bath, like Muriatic Acid. This will kill any algae that is in the filter itself.

You may need to vaccuum your pool to waste, get rid of some of the water and refill it. This may help get the chemicals in order.

Another idea would be to run the system continuously for a couple of days. Vaccuum to waste, not to return lines, and clean the filter when it reaches 8 to 10 PSI above start-up. You may not be running the pump long enough to properly filter water. Keep trying to get chemicals in order.

Will not pump when it has a filter in it

filters are too good for pump system.

These pool pumps seam to over heat fast, no quick fix.

* Try getting more air flow around pump.
* Only use pump when using pool or near by.
* Use a pool cover - will help stop dirt/rubbish getting into pool - less to filter.

Unable to get water clear last season could it be faulty pump

Although the chips inside the pump could decrease the efficiency i doubt that this is why you were unable to get the pool clear. What type of filter do you have, how old is the media inside it, and was the water just cloudy, or did you have algae problems?
