My Zenith VCR is not working with the digital converter box
I have been in contact with the company I bought my digital converter box from (Philco). They assured me that I have everything hooked up correctly in order to view the TV and also record programs using my Zenith VCR. When I turn the TV and converter box on, I get a nice picture but once I turn on the VCR, there is complete fuzz.
Here's how I'm set up: my antenna cable is connected to Converter box ANT IN. Coaxial cables connect from converter box ANT OUT to VCR ANT IN, and VCR ANT OUT connected to TV ANT IN. Both VCR and Converter box are set to video channel 3.
For a very brief time, I had this working and was able to view programs with the VCR on and even tested to see if I could record. (It did!) I'm assuming I was hooked up right to be able to do that. I haven't made any changes in hook up since then however I can't get a picture at all on my TV once I turn on the VCR. I was told by the Philco people that the VCR is interrupting the signal from the converter box to the TV. I was also told to contact Zenith and ask how to auto preset my VCR so it will memorize channels into the VCR. Can you help me figure this out? I have a Zenith VRL2110 VCR model.

When the VCR is "off" the converter signal should go right through the box, which you say it does. Then, when you turn the VCR "on" the picture disappears. That, so far, how it should be. To get your picture back while the VCR is "on" you must set the VCR to "receive" channel 3, and use your new converter box to change channels...accordianman

Take the OUTPUT from digital converter BOX and plug that cable to the INPUT on VCR......
take cable from VCR >>>OUTPUT and connect it to the INPUT on TV....make sure you connect ANT. to the ant. INPUT on digital converter box..
Since Insignia and LG share compatible codes for digital-to-analog converters, review your remote control's manual for LG VCR codes as they should work to control the Insignia converter.
You need to set the vcr to channel 3 or 4 (whatever channel the digital converter box is set to broadcast on) to record a program. The digital converter box has to be set to the channel you want to record the show from.
ok cable sat wire goes into input of dvd-vcr input then coming out from the dvd vcr and into the moulator then a wire out to the tv now make sure your vcr is set to the right setting ...now you can record 1 cable..2.vcr dvd..3 modulator...4...tv make sure vcr is set to monitor
I have the same problem.... On the back of the tv, there are three coax
spots. One is for Cable, one is antenna decoder, and another is a loop.
I have had zero luck getting any of those to receive the signal.
Instead i have ran my digital signal to a vcr, then ran rca cables from
it to my tv. I then put my tv in vcr mode, or aux depending on where
you hooked it up. You can watch tv through your vcr this way.
I wonder if the RF interference from the digital tuner. That box will only allow ouput either through the coax or the AV ports. If you do both you will not get a picture.
If you switch them you have to tell the box what your using for output by going through the setup process.
Is the Zenith 901 converter box for your cable TV.
Can't go through the VCR in the normal way. The DTV box must be tuned to the channel you want to record and left there. Cannot tell VCR to tape one channel and watch another nor tape multiple timed and multiple channel shows unless the DTV is tuned to that specific channel. This makes most VSR functions useless.
