Contact a tech professional to diagnose the unit. You could have a floating restriction in the coolant lines and cannot easily be found on your own.

SOURCE: my frigidaire refrigerator does not

Had this same problem. Ice formed on the back of the freezer compartment, but the refriderator area would be about 50 degrees. Checked the fan and defroster timer and everything worked fine. Watched it all defrost and ice build up again. Finally called for service. First guy said he needed to take the unit back to the shop. Second guy said there was an internal leak in the sealed case...couldn't be fixed. Finally realized I had bought an extended warranty (yippee!!) and called the authorized service dealer. Tech came out, said there was a service bulletin whereby the freon line by the evaporator coils was bent a little to extremly and was causing a restriction in the freon...thus the ice build up. He tweaked the line a little and now it has run perfect for 6 months. Would be nice if these bulletins from the factory were posted somewhere...

SOURCE: ice in the bottom of frigidaire side by side frost proof freezer

take all the bottom shelves and baskets out of the freezer. look at the back wall of the freezer. youll see a block of ice in a metal pan looking part at the bottom of the rear panel. there is a hole in the bottom of that pan. thats the defrost drain. its clogged. use a hair dryer to get all the ice out then use hot water to flush out the drain hole.

SOURCE: Frigidaire ice maker not working

Hi,
The first step you need to do is to turn the water off to the refrigerator so it quits making until you get it fixed.
If your fridge has the control boards in each side of the freezer cabinet that controls the icemaker, then you have a failed board. If you have a standard icemaker with the metal shutoff arm then you have a failed motor module in the icemaker. You can remove the icemaker and unplug the wiring connector from it so you can leave the water on to the dispenser.

Frigidaire FGHN2844LP ice freezing together. Replaced filter. Twenty hours later, ice maker not working, freezer warm, refrigerator temp. steady 40.

Hello Pat Havard,

I was pulling your owners manual to TRY to determine what could be done to block your freezer door or ice chute open during the filter changing process...

Today the ambient air temperature was at least 90 - 100°F
(degrees Fahrenheit)... To maintain 40°F your refrigerator
has to be working...

You need to look at your FREEZER side...
Your food, a pizza box... ice tray...
SOMETHING... in your immediate WORK area
is blocking vents... or proper closure...

Look at the door switch... make sure your light is OFF

My best guess... FILTER FIASCO induced.

My frigidaire side by side refrigerator had problems from day one. We. had it looked at once and worked fine for a while. We don't use the ice maker as our water is not good. The arm is in the upright...

Hello,

I sounds to me like too much cold air is entering the freshfood compartment and freezing the items their(disregard the icemaker as the problem) I dont know what model you have so i dont know if it hasa damper in the upper left corner of the fresh food section that is stuck open and allowing too much air cold air ..or if it doesnt have a damper and its the thermostat that is sticking and not turning off the fan that circulates the air but it will defiently be one or the other based on if it has a damper or not.

Freezing food in frig. , not making ice .

Freezing food in the fridge also freezes the water line for the ice maker.
You have a thermostat problem. Get a new thermostat fitted.

The ice maker was making ice then some of the ice turned yellow and now the ice maker has stopped making ice. The freezer is still freezing the food in there.

The icemaker concists of a gearbox that has oil inside it.When the gearbox wears, it starts to leak at the shaft. Suggest you replace the icemaker.

Ice maker over flows water into ice hopper than it freezes

Several things can cause this issue.
1. Failed ice maker (overfilling)
You can easily replace the icemaker.
Lg 1 800 243-0000

2. Bad main computer. Or some one over adjusted the fill time on the computer.

3. bad water valve.

Bosch Side by Side, top shelves dont freeze food, bottom does

majority of refrigerators today are equipped with an automatic icemaker. The water valve supplying the icemaker is a key component of the icemaking system, and it should be the first thing you check if the icemaker's performance is erratic or if the icemaker stops working. When the icemaker calls for ice, its switch closes an electrical circuit and energizes the solenoid-operated water valve. This allows water to flow through the valve and into the ice cube tray. The water is frozen into cubes, and the cubes are dumped into the ice bin. As time passes, strange things may happen to the refrigerator's icemaking capability. The cubes may be small or there may be a solid chunk of ice instead of individual cubes. It's also possible that the icemaker will stop working. These are all signs of a malfunctioning water valve. The valve is equipped with a screen on its inlet to remove minerals and sediments in the water supply. Over time, minerals and sediment build up on the screen and restrict flow through the valve, or even block it completely. Minerals that make it through the screen can cause the valve to stick in the open position, overfilling the ice cube tray in the process. This is a common problem in areas with hard water, but it can happen just about anywhere. Another malfunction that will cause the icemaker to stop working is a break in the solenoid coil winding. This is known as an open coil. The coil winding generates a magnetic field as current passes through it, and this magnetic field opens the plunger valve that controls water flow. A break in the coil winding stops current flow and this prevents the valve from operating. Test And Inspect The icemaker's valve is easy to inspect and test. First, gently pull the refrigerator away from the wall, and unplug it. Turn off the water supply to the icemaker by closing the shut-off valve in the copper waterline leading to the valve (Fig. 1). Use a screwdriver or nutdriver to remove the rear lower access panel from the refrigerator's back. Next, remove the fill tubing from the water valve. Use a wrench to loosen the flare nut on the brass fitting on the inlet side of the valve (above). Place a container under the valve to catch the small amount of water that will spill from the valve and tubing. Now use a screwdriver or a nutdriver to remove the screw holding the valve's mounting bracket to the refrigerator cabinet (Fig. 2). Pull the valve out of the compartment and remove the tube on the valve's outlet. Then, remove the solenoid's electrical contacts (Fig. 3).

Icemaker is not freezing ice, freezer not freezing food,

The ice maker won't work if the freezer is warmer than 17 degrees so that's not an issue till you get the freezer cold again. I would guess that your unit is stuck in the defrost cycle. This could be the defrost timer failing. See if you can find the defrost timer in your unit and advance it by hand if possible. http://www.partselect.com/PartSearchResults.aspx?modelnum=jcd2295hes&mfgmodelnum=&fkmfgid=1&hint=defrost
