You have to change the 'date battery'. Use the user manual to find its location.

Mine is Canon A520, located beside the cable link sockets. Battery is CR 1220.

How do I set the date and time on my Canon camera? It is a Canon Powershot SX110IS

To set the Date and Time, follow the instructions on page13 in the User Gide.
To set the camera to put date/time stamps on the photos, see instructions on pages 22-23.

I got to say that I just LOVE this camera! Had it twice - got stolen twice in South America! :(

Best regards,
Pelu.

Camera Canon A710 IS started to ask set time date when turned on

When the camera is left without power for an extended period of time, the time and date settings are gone. You need to reset them and when you're finished, click the set/ok button twice.

Canon 40D - All settings are reset after reboot - Serious error

I would hesitate to disagree with Canon service, but you may want to try replacing the date/time battery. It's a small "button" battery (CR2016) that is supposed to provide power so that the camera 'remembers' the date, time, and other settings when the main battery is removed.

It is located in a holder that slides out of the camera, right next to where the main battery is located. It's worth a try.

Time and date resetting constantly...

This camera has a separate date battery. Lift up the small rectangular cover next to the main batteries. A small CR1220 battery maintains the date. Replace it and you should be OK. I just discovered this on the Canon web site.
