Polaroid A500 digital camera pressed ON button, nothing happened with new AA batteries and SD card

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

I have a Polaroid t1035. When turning the camera on and off the lens will not collapse and makes a clicking noise.

This is a common issue with retractable lenses. A grain of sand, accidentally pressing the On button when still in the bag etc.

In most cases the problem is of mechanical nature - meaning one of the gears is stuck. The small motor doesn't have enough power to push through it.

Depending on the model - there are sometimes tricks to get the lens going again. It involves manually helping the lens to come out. There's a risk of permanent mechanical damage.
