Pull off the float bowl. Clean the bowl and bowl nut. Also in the threaded are where the bowl nut screws in there is a fuel jet / orifice with a tiny pin hole in it. If you have a inlMake sure that pin hole is clear of debris. Pull off the hose going to the carb and make sure you have good fuel flow to the fuel manifold. If you have poor fuel flow check the in line filter and the fuel tank exit port for debris. Use carb cleaner to clean fuel passages. With the float bowl remove the the main fuel line disconnected shoot carb cleaner from the float needle to the fuel hose connection and then from the fuel hose connection to the float needle. Reinstall the main fuel hose, float bowl and nut. Check for leaks BEFORE switching on the ignition.

Additionally make sure the engine Oil is serviced correctly. There is a low oil sensor that will kill the ignition if the oil level is low. For trouble shooting only you can disconnect ONE wire and check spark. If you did not have spark with the oil sensor connected and you have spark with it disconnected then the oil level sensor is either working correctly sensing a low oil lovel or... it is dirty and needs cleaned.

This SHOULD get you up and running again. If not just respond here with your ENGINE number and I will help you

The tiller starts and runs well for about 10 to 15 minutes but then will bog down and stop running . It will restart and run for about 30 seconds and then stop again. Any ideas about what is causing this,...

It sounds like a carburetor fuel issue. Which you could try attempting to adjust the carburetor (or have someone else do such) to see if that cures the problem.

The tiller starts but then immediately stalls after a few seconds. I have cleaned the air filter and changed the gas without any benefit. the tiller has only been used a few times

me too...does your engine get abnormally hot? My F-I-L says mine's a bad carburetor. $60 replacement + shipping. I may give it a try...sad though...I don't think I have more than 3 hours run time on this stupid thing. (MC43)

Honda Tiller revs and works for 30 seconds and then shuts down.

Hello. you have some gunk in the carburator. Get a can of starter fluid or carburator cleaner aerosol and a helper. Remove the air filter and start it up. Spray a little starter fluid into the air cleaner to keep it running for three or four minutes and the problem should clear. If it does not clear the carburator will have to be disassembled, cleaned and rebuilt. j.

I need a worm wheel for a Honda minitiller FG100.

You can buy parts for this from www.petessmallengine.com
I had to replace the tine shaft w/worm wheel assy. This is usually the weak point in the transmission. The worm is made out of brass.
