If there are no proper toilet facilities around you should relive yourself away from the camp area. The most environmentally friendly way to do this is to relive into some kind of container and dispose if it appropriately.

A LuggableLoo is a sturdy plastic bucket that comes with a snap-on toilet seat and hingedlid. They are easy to transport around but if you are camping and hiking youmight want to look at portable toilets that collapse flat and can be stored inyour bag.

There aresome basic hygiene items that you should remember when packing for your campingtrip:

• Carry out human waste in a container such as poo tube, pot or reseal-able bags this is the most sensible and environmentally friendly option in places such as caves, rocky areas, alpine areas and snow.
• Dig a shallow hole in the ground making sure it's well away from water courses and where others will not discover it.
