My Sony had the blue screen due to the voltage screw being turned too high. I removed the front of my tv and dialed back the blue screw and it worked perfectly.. now its back to blue screen. What should I use to hold the blue voltage screw in place so I will not have to keep dismantling my tv? electrical tape? glue?

NOT GOOD NEWS... IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR BLUE CRT IS SHORTED. THE ORIGINAL PART IS N.L.A.(NO LONGER AVAILABLE) THEY DO MAKE A GENERIC REPLACEMENT, BUT I DON'T THINK THEY ARE AS GOOD AS O.E.M.
YOU CAN TAKE OFF FRONT OF T.V. AND ADJUST THE SCREEN DOWN ON THE FOCUS BLOCK. IT IS THE BLACK BOX WITH 6 ADJ. ON IT 3 ARE FOCUS. 3 ARE SCREEN . TURN THE BLUE ALL THE WAY DOWN , THEN WITH THE BACK OF A PLASTIC OR RUBBER SCREWDRIVER HANDEL YOU CAN TAP ON THE NECK OF THE CRT, NOT TO HARD. SOME TIMES YOU CAN CLEAR THE SHORT OUT OF THE CTR. IF THIS WORKS LET THE SET WARM UP FOR 10-20 MIN. THEN TURN THE COLOR ALL THE WAR OFF, THEN SET THE BLUE LEVER UNTIL YOU HAVE A GOOD BLACK AND WHITE PICTURE. BE CAREFUL NOT TO TURN IT UP YOU CAN DAMAGE THE CTR IF THE LEVEL IS TO HIGH. ERROR 8 IS A.K.B. ERROR THAT MEANS THE CRT'S ARE DRAWING TO MUCH CURRENT.
DON...

There are tiny screens at the top and bottom of the lightbulb (XL2200) that allow air for cooling over the lightbulb. It appears that if air flow is restricted the heat is not able to escape. The light source is in direct proximity to another mirror like device called the integrator lighting system polarization changer element. This may have gotten a little hotter than normal and is changing how the light is passing through to the tiny LCD's which make up the light engine. Creating the small areas of lavender light we are seeing.
I myself have replaced this bulb and now will check every months to vacuum the dirt off the tiny screens.

So you got the six screws undone, great! Now you can pop off the front speaker grill. The easiest way is to work your hand along the top and bottom to pop the plastic out of the "holders"
If what you are describing to me is the main wires still attached to the rest of the TV. So don't pull it out too far! If you do it right you won't have to unplug the wires, and save yourself some hassle... with this TV you'll have to pull it out JUST ENOUGH to get access to the carboard/masonite backing, removing such will give you full access to the six controls.
Adjust from there! Sorry for the wait, and I hope this helped out!
:)

There is no other screws other then at corners at back of TV that you have already removed/ loosen.
Please pull lower front from its top corners as its lower part has hooks with bottom of TV front.
Below image will help you to remove front panel for lamp replacement in this TV..
Thanks.
