Lamp Light Red - No Screen Image

When we turned on the TV, the lamp light turned on a constant red. The lamp light never even flashed green with a warning. The screen was black and there was no image or sound. We tried to reset the TV but it still didn't turn on. We ordered a new lamp and installed it but there is still no image/sound and the lamp light is still a constant red. We replaced the original lamp about 4 months ago when the lamp light was flashing green but this time there was no lamp warning. The original lamp lasted over two years. Is this a lamp issue or something else? Any suggestions appreciated...

    I've got the exact same scenerio for mine, same model too, what ended up being the cause?? I called a tech he said it was the ballast and they weren't too difficult to install so I was about to order 1 until I read your post. Thanks

    I have the mitsubishi-WD-62527 model . When I turn on the TV I can hear the sound and see the green light but in 10 second the light changes to red, with no sounds and no picture just a blue screen. I have replaced the lamp twice but still the same situation. Please let me know how can I enjoy the picture and sound of my TV again? Please respond to [email protected] Thanks.

It could be the a problem with the lamp ballist circuit, or just a bad lamp socket, or simply a bad lamp. The only way to tell is to call out a servicer as that would be alot less expensive then to get a new lamp and then that not be the problem. These problems can be a little hair pulling at times, thats why i have no hair left!! LOL Good Luck

Panasonic DLP TV Bulbs

Make sure its an original Osram or Philips bulb inside the housing. If its a cheap lamp it will act this way. If it is an original lamp, then you may have a power supply issue. It shouldn't affect your TV but you may want to try resetting the lamp timer by following the instructions that came with the lamp.

Your tv is a projection one - it uses a very powerful lamp/bulb to generate the light that used for the image. In your tv that bulb has died and must be replaced - it will cost about $200.

Hello! When was the last time you replace lamp in your TV? If long time ago (2+ years) - replace the lamp. If red light blinks in sequence (example 4 flashes, pause, 4 flushes, pause and so on) - then I need to know how many flushes between pauses. It is an error code. If it blinks just constantly - it is a bad lamp. Regards. Russ.

Probable Lamp. If lamp hasn't bown the red Lamp Lite won't flash but other lamp issues cause stby timer light to continue flashing. If stby red lite is flashing, count the no. of times flashing - could open thermal fuse (6X flashing)

The tv will turn on but no the screen wont. and
Replace the lamp would be the first thing to try. Lamp door switch on this model is notorious for going bad. If you replace lamp and still won't turn on jumper door switch. If you take off back you can see switch board.
