Acer aspire 5736z-4460 won't turn on

you can boot off a windows operating disc, either the one that came with the laptop, though most do not come with a disc any more, or find one online.

Either there is a problem with the mainboard connection or the most likely is the HDD is dead and you will need to purchase a new one.

Usually it is located in front of the laptop, under the touch screen mouse. Also check your laptops specifications, maybe it does not have SD connector.

sounds like a short. could be the charger, but could be the connector on the laptop. does it wiggle at all?

if you isolate the cable (don't wiggle the plugged in part) and move it around, can you cause the charging to stop and start by bending your cable? if so, it is definitely a short in your charger and you'd be best off ordering a replacement if you don't want to deal with the hassle.

have you been tried to use other sd card ? or have you been tried to use other usb slot of the laptop just to know if where the main cause of the problem.

Try starting up in Safe Mode (Console mode) and type in
"SFC /Scannow"Once its done you should be able to do recovery options.
If not, boot from the windows 7 recovery/install CD and choose "Repair".
Go through the recovery process using the CD and it should all be fine!

Sounds like a power supply problem, not uncommon for that model. Luckily they're fairly easy to replace... usually.

You might be able to get a generic power supply in there, but you want to make sure it fits and the screw holes line up!
