Login error 81003004 from Yahoo Messenger

As far as wat i did to my YM.

i simply checked the connection preferences and turned

"Connect via a proxy server."

then select

"HTTP proxy"

after that take a look at your internet connection dropdown list..

some mistakes are seen here.. instead of having the "broadband" connection selected the "dial-up" connection was chosen by YM itself..

6. Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections (tab) > dial-up and virtual private Network setting > select your default connection > setting > check automatically detect setting

1st sorry 4 my poor English.
if you have problem to sigin Yahoo Messenger(YM) . 1st you check the internet explore(IE)is working correctly. most of the time it don't work. (but Firefox,chrome,Gtalk,etc..etc.. are works correctly)
so go to IE ->Tools->Internet options->Connections->LAN Settings-> Check Automatically Detect settings and uncheck other options. (See screen shot below)
Now IE and YM will work fine....

Change your messenger connection settings. check "Connect via a proxy server " in order to sing in.

Yahoo messenger use the same connect configuration as IE, so check your IE connection ( Option -> Tools ->Connection ->Lan...) to ensure that your config is right

Click yahoo massenger

then

click massenger option

then

click perferences sub option

then

click connection via a proxy server and it sub menu HTTP proxy

then

click apply and OK

and log in

If you encounter error 81003004 in Yahoo! messenger, try this:

Turn off your Firewall and try logging in Yahoo! messenger

You may turn on after successful login.

Ihave this problem too but i can solve he problem by change your conection setting in preference: 1. go to messenger menu 2. select connection preference/ preference 3. the tab will automatic select connection preference, if it doesn't, select it manual. 4. change your internet conection type, for my problem i choose broadband *(DSL/Cable). hope this solve your problem best regards

It means you had an internet connection problem and one of your browser its working as offline without connection, after you fix this yahoo messenger will work correctly

Hmmm... I had the same error last night (81003004). I'm not sure what caused it. I though at first it was a problem with our network. I'm still not sure though. The only thing I remember doing before the error is changing my default browser from IE to Chrome. After which when my YM got disconnected (which happens quite often due to my network connection), my YM could not reconnect again. I now have connection again. I'm not sure if this is the solution but what I did is just clicked on "Sign-In Problems"which redirected me to yahoo help page. I then selected the "My account have been compromised"... ans so on... and so fort. And that did it for me... ummm, i think?? ^_^

Try to close ym, after closing try open it up again and log in it...

K guys I encountered the same issue, The fix is simple jzt chk none of the default browser is set to "WORK OFFLINE",
Thats wat causes the issue for sure, cos Iv faced this issue wen I accidentlly had changed the IE to "WORK OFFLINE",But wen I changed this setting it immediately worked.

Hello, be sure you don't have a proxy in iexplore - tools - internet option - conection - lan setings - use a proxy server for your lan ... etc. If that proxy isn't working you can't conect to YM. hope that helps

Hi...this happens due to an issue in internet connectivity. Try disabling and enabling your wireless or wired LAN and connect again.
It will solve the issue.

After Googling and Following ALL suggestions Unsuccessfully...
i FOUND the CULPRIT to be AVG AntiVirus WEB SHIELD...
in AVG Overview Interface CLICK on WEB SHIELD then INSTANT MESSAGING TAB, UNCHECK Yahoo Messenger and Other Messenger You are USING...AND Puff...atleast this is how i FIXED my Prob:)

Simple just disable your firewall temporarily, i experienced that, what i did, i just disable my ZoneAlarm Firewall and viola!

The solution is that in your messenger you just to have simply check the connection preferences and have to enable the "Connect via a proxy server" then select "HTTP proxy".

Try each of these in turn
1) Start with a clean browser
Download 'ccleaner' and run it through a couple of times,using the factory settings and the 'Run Cleaner' control until 0 bytes are seen to be cleaned following a scan
Run the 'Registry' from the left hand toolbar but 'Save' any changes after opting to 'repair' errors.

2) On the sign in page click 'Messenger' > Conection
Toggle between 'Connect direct to the internet' and 'Proxy setting' make sure the information is correct in the lower 2 boxes
3) Check these settings in IE (even if you have another browser set as default)
a) Tools > Internet options > Connections > Lan settings > check 'Automatically detect settings - uncheck other options
b) Tools > work offline - make sure this is NOT checked and has a red X through it
4) Disable your firewall and do a trial sign in
5) Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections > Lan Settings-uncheck Proxy server and check automatically detect setting

"Connect via a proxy server" then select "HTTP proxy", instead of 'direct'.

Please you guys try to write full email address just like hotmail.

I did it and my messenger was connected.
