Help with kettler Isis rowing machine

Hi, we have a kettler Isis rowing machine which has been in storage whilst we moved. It looks like the batteries have rotted in the monitor and won't switch on. Can anyone advise how I mend this or if not can you suggest solution? Thanks, I look forward to hearing back.

SOURCE: Slack in line on rowing machine

extend the line to its max required length while you are sitting on the machine { as using } then get someone else to adjust the slack on the line and make it taught , the adjustment should be a bolt and nut type located on the main wheel . do not adjust the line from the seat as this may dislodge the seat . happy rowing

Loss of tension for a kettle coach rowing machine

The fly wheel has a 'freewheel' mechanism similar to the rear wheel on a bicycle. It needs cleaning and regreasing with light grease to free it up and make it work properly. The job is not difficult but needs some diy knowledge. Before trying to remove the fly wheel some slack will need to be created on the 'bungee' return cord and anchored securely. You will also require circlip pliers to remove the shaft. The freewheel mechanism is a set of needle bearings that move forward in their recess to allow the wheel to rotate and move back and lock when the wheel rotates in the opposite direction. These need to be free moving and old grease thickens and becomes sticky. Clean with something like GT 85 and regrease with a light grease.

What oil to use on the rowing bushings?

The c2 chain oil is the best that I've found, and nothing else that compares.
Don't use 3 in 1 oil on your chain, unless you like breathing toxic fumes while you're rowing. I am using this rowing machine Concept2 Model Indoor Rowing Review

I would like to purchase two shocks for Kettler favorit rower. What is the price and how do I order them? Tim

Hi Tim,

You should be able to find a parts order form from the Kettler website. I took the liberty of finding the link for you; http://www.kettlerusa.com/page6.html.

from that link you are going to need to get your manual out and track down the specific part number so that you can order it via the order form. With specialized equipment like rowing machines and such it is a smart idea to order direct from the manufacturer because you are sure of getting the right part and in the process extending the life of your machine indefinatley.

Hope this helps you!

Cable breaks every 10 -15 times I row. Could I buy another recommended cable with instructions for fitting correctly?

Is it the bungee that breaks? If so, you can absolutely replace that if you call the manufacturer.
You will know that the bungee is breaking if you pull on the cord and receive no resistance, or if the cable does not reel itself in.
If it is the actual cable connecting to your handle, there is much larger issue with your machine, and a new cable is not going to help. You should look into repairing the whole system.
