I recently installed a refurbished encore system with 4 lines. Everything is working except, when you call our main line it will not roll over to the other lines.

a user manual is here
http://www.encore-usa.com/download/manual/ENHWI-G2_Manual.pdf
Power everything off
connect the modem to the WAN port on the router -
switch on the modem - allow lights to settle
switch on the router - allow lights to settle
you can loginto the router and setup according to your ISP instructions
you should be able to log onto the ISP website and see what settings are required
Often the default settings in a router and connected to a modem will work
You can actually do the system programing thru the phone itself, press the prog button above the display on the phone & go to system programing, you'll need the system admin code (try 1111).
Alternatively you can install a programing applicatrion on your pc & connect to the async port on the main control unit. The program applicaion would have been delivered with the system docs.
Liooks like you have the phone programmed to "Handsfree answerback" this will cause the handsfree light to flash continiously.
In this mode the phone will auto answer any internal call from another extension.... so watch out.
To switch this mode off press the program button above the displey & you be given th option to switch "Auto Answer off " I think it's the first option, try it.
You definitely can do this with a ECX feature set if you program the lines on the keys. You've got to program "Button Hopping" off in the system this automatically puts the first call on system hold when you press the line key for the second incoming call.
I don't think there's a limit to how many you can have on hold.
I accidentally set everything to clear including the defaults on our phone system at work. I cant get into programming now to change everything back as it deleted password for access to programming function.
As far as I've seen, the data line light on the modem should indicate whether the data signal is coming through from AT&T or not, so I'd suspect that there is a problem with the signal from AT&T rather than between your modem and computer.
It is possible that the data signal lapsed for a while and your modem thinks it's still not there without actually looking. You can try unplugging your modem from it's power for about a minute (at least 30 seconds) and then replugging it in afterwards. That sometimes allows it to see the new data signal if it lapsed previously for any reason. After all lights light up (especially the data one), then try to go online again. If that doesn't work, try restarting the computer and if that doesn't work I'd try to talk to someone higher up in the AT&T support and explain about the data signal not showing on the modem so you can get them to fix it.
On your Intertel Encore system you can program from a phone at extension 20.
Intertel does not allow the sale of the manual to end-users (you) only Intertel dealers have access.
I can help with the time change:
From EXT 20 press the PROGRAM key, use the arrow keys to scroll until "System Programming" is displayed. It will ask for the password. The default is 1111, if it's been changed you may be in trouble...
You would then select "System" then Select "Time and Date" - change the time (24 hour format) and date (MMDDYY) then hit the SPEAKER button to complete programming.
I hope this helps. I have not done this myself, just passing on the instructions.
